Stop in for a cup of coffee

That's sure what it looks like. I saw one posted like that before and kindof scratched my head wondering if it was possible to assemble the other way.
Lemme see if I can link it. He didn't say what year, but its a black mirror with the safety trim.

I think it is able to be assembled the opposite way. Mine is open on the back side...

Something new to keep an eye out on when at car shows etc.
Its funny how certain items, like the details of overspray on an engine, get lots of interest, while other items like the mirrors or wipers - which many more people see, get overlooked.
Here's the post about the day-night button. Review Mirror Variations?
Another little mystery.

That’s why I said I think all the ‘67 ones are the same. ‘69 May have different part numbers depending on how they are assembled.
It makes sense to use the tooling available. I would have ythought stylisticly they would want to keep updating the whole line with a the new look, but maybe the production side folks decided otherwise.

Mine is a chromed flip switch, side to side.

It’s actually clever to make them reversible since the other side of the stem has a different look with a center groove vs. solid. This way, they get a different look depending on how it’s assembled but both use all the same parts.

I got an extra from a 73 Swinger if you're interested ..
Thanks for the offer - My recollection is those are noticibly different. Hopefully this one from Ontario will work out. A few less people run over makes people happy. Cones are always safe because I push the mirror up and out of the way. That won't be appreciated when sharing the track.

The one in the photo, that's the repop from 'OE - Classic
1969 Dodge Parts | MD7124 | 1968-69 Mopar A-Body Rear View Mirror | Classic Industries

I might have seen that back in 2015 and it got me scratching my head. The stem has the same design as my '67 - which I like - but it also looks to be just as long- which does me no good. With everything we've shared tonight I'm pretty sure that repop isn't exactly correct for any year, although I'm sure it will work fine. [for someone, but not me]
