Stop in for a cup of coffee

Your neighbors were all celebrating taco Tuesday while you were at work. :D

You are quite right, Keith, the unit above is a vacation rental and there is a family with kids giving the plumbing an extra workout, probably the final straw that caused the problem...no sign of the plumbers yet. I called the lady who owns that unit and she told them to stop using the water till it's fixed.

Ranger backed out under its own power. So intake is done, next is tires, shocks and front coils.
Big bill....
Quoted on tires yesterday. I hate tires. But its 20. So a few pennies to be made.
Busy. What a difference a couple weeks make.

Wow you just don't expect when you stumble out of bed in the morning and take a pee that the toilet starts overflowing! I shut off the main water and called the management company, the handyman came and said it must be something outside because they are getting roto-rooter out here. Luckily I can shower at the fitness center....

You can always pee outside...

Question: what is so taboo about using those universal, ribbed radiator hoses? I've never used them before, always gone for the pre molded but the polara had one before I removed everything to yank the engine. Everyone seems to hate them

Cheap looking on a car close to be restored. If you don't care no-one else should either. If I had universal hoses, I wouldn't be proud enough to open the hood. I need Corbin clamps on the Swinger hoses. I will buy new hoses though.

A low mile V8 automatic Convertriple will always be worth more than a /6 with a 3 on the tree car. Twice the price is all about what the buyer will pay.
That’s why I put it in the $12-15k range. If he can pull his $20k, great...but I doubt it.

20 is a bit steep to me. For 7800 I'd buy the booger if I needed a driver..
Yep. It's all about what you can afford. Since I bought my Swinger, I have seen a lot of $15,000-20,000 cars in the same year/mile/condition range. That $20 large price would be more in line with a 340 car for sure.

Yeah. When I look at the green one my first thoughts are since it’s a manual car...a 360 Magnum with a 4 speed would go nicely in there. Add new torsion bars, SS springs, dual exhaust and cragar SS wheels with some fat tires and you have a helluva Duster for around $15k

if you are looking for a project and want to make improvements, the 20k car is all wrong. Probably lowest mileage I have seen on one. It's a survivor car and that is where the value is. The more you do, the less it's worth. Value is whatever someone will pay, but I don't think he's far off- fair asking price.

Way too much for me. When the car was new, it was not that good! IMO

Agree. It’s a low demand car and the buyers for a low demand survivor intending to keep it that way are even lower. Not many out there that are going to fork over $20k for it...if any.

There will always be some increase in flow (should read resistance) and reduction in flow and velocity. Whether it is enough to make a difference can probably only be discovered the hard way. In air-handling systems (in buildings) too much flex duct definately is a negative on efficiency and effectiveness.

hey Dave, If you're up for it. can you get a photo of the mirror?
There's a fellow selling one, I think a '68 and the stem is shorter. I think I'm going to go for it even though it means shipping from Canada.

Ribbed pipes reduce the flow to the minimum diameter of the ribs at the narrowest part of the ribbed section plus a significant amount more since the turbulence between the ribbed sections reduces the effective laminar flow region substantially. A ribbed coolant tube can have as little as 40% of the flow cross section flow of a smooth tube.

In other words, it can be like replacing a 3” diameter radiator hose with one that’s only 1.25” in diameter.
