Chrysler grooved the center on many of the shoe linings. And we used to grind 1" wide slots into the front shoes on the front end of the race buggy for less braking at that end .
Good morning.

No he's been on. In fact 56 min ago. Stopped in to turn us in for talking politics in the coffee shop and bolted.Just got back from my drive what used to be one of the best places to buy any sort of metal. Now, the new stuff is limited to mass volume and you have to put your order in at the desk. The original building and surrounding yard is 'surplus' and I did luck out there for a few things. They also still have lots of used machinery, tools, as well as new and surplus supplies. I picked up new US made cutting disks, and old stock light switches and recepticles. Also managed to find 7' section galvanized pipe for a clothespole and fence.
Unfortunately they didn't have the 2 x 2 tubing for the frame connections in either new or surplus. We wanted .083" and all they had was 14 ga or 1/8. Nothing inbetween. So that will be another trip. Should be able to get it up near OMR's place. Speaking of OMR, he's been laying low...
Did you see the video I posted a while back with the Corvair in the vintage race? Similar situation in terms of weight distribution - maybe not as bad. Of course that's not a budget class. I'd love to see what all he's done to make that 4-drum system as good as it is.With most of the weight in the back of the race car, the VW drum brakes would lock on the front. Didn't steer worth beans. It was a budget class and something "custom" like a proportioning valve would have been frowned upon.
Well the moderator wouldnt do it.No he's been on. In fact 56 min ago. Stopped in to turn us in for talking politics in the coffee shop and bolted.

Those are big drive shafts for 10,000 hp drive motors. They are going to be on a giant mixing vessel that is bigger than a 4 story office building. The impellers look like they came off a ship. What's that going to be?
We've gots ourselves a rat...hmmm.... Thought it was a good general discussion and no stones were thrown that I saw. Oh well. Anybody got any good thong Thursday pics? lol
supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow nightnot complaining, but find it amusing... this time yesterday our forecast was 100% chance of 3-5 inches of snow for Saturday. Now, no s word. 10% for any precipitation.
