Stop in for a cup of coffee

So you were messed up when I blocked you corporal?
quite possibly.

did you ever get spark from the COIL?
yep.

Houston, we have ignition. She coughed and sputtered to life but does idle. It's off a tad, I think timing needs adjusted but she doesn't smoke. Ran it about 30-45 seconds. Didn't wanna run too long as I wait for the v belts for the water pump.

So, Chris. Going to enlighten us?
What was de problemo?

Well to be honest. I'm not really sure. I went and swapped all the plug wires from the brand new set that I'd bought last week to the set that had been on the car for Lord knows how long. I got some spark then, but it wasn't wanting to fire. Out of desperation, I switched back to the old ballast resistor and bam, fired right up

So what you had was a bad connection at the ballast resistor.

Most likely but I'd tested it earlier per the books instructions with a test light, it flashed as it was supposed too so I don't know

I just dont know why he did not hot wire like I told him. Would eliminate the resistor. I just thought he wanted to see if it ran....

Little known NASA history factoid. Apollo 12 actually had a lunar rover, but dust clogged the air intake from the compressed air supply and it wouldn’t run so NASA never showed it...

Working without a multimeter to diagnose electrical issues is like trying to use one of these to figure out what the problem is...

Cause honestly, I'd forgotten about your suggestion to do that

Or learn not to trust your crappy memory...and learn to TAKE NOTES!

yep I try too pay attention.

Neither, just got around to putting it in. The whole project is still in the building process.
Ahh ok. Well that's good regardless

yeah. I'm rapidly learning I can't memorize stuff as well as I used too. Dang near had a photographic memory. Could read something once and recit it from memory . Now adays, I find myself forgetting little stuff. Have to read stuff multiple times on occasions. Didn't notice it before my seizures started but the doc swears memory loss isn't a side effect of seizures
