A motor receives power from an external source, and then converts it into mechanical energy, while an engine creates power from pressure (derived directly from the explosive force of combustion or other chemical reaction, or secondarily from the action of some such force or other substances such as air, water, or steam).
 
Hey folks, got a wiring question for the crew. I’m getting ready to break-in this engine (hopefully over the weekend). Using the car as a test stand. There is no permanent wiring. I have everything wired and ready except for the alternator. So I’m guessing main lug off of alt. to battery with a fuse link. One field wire off alt (green) to regulator. The other field off of alt. to battery (switched) and blue from regulator also to the switch. And again this is just for break in. Am I even close?

Are you using a fuse box at all? and is the run switch also have start position?

No fuse box, everything is fused separately. Yes, switch has (2) run and (1) start. 1st run is constant and 2nd is only hot in run not during start (if that makes sense).

To your alternator charging question, that part is easy.
Output stud to battery with fusible link is correct. Every wire attached to the battery positive should have a fusible link except the ones for the starter.
Power to alternator field can come from the Run position. (blue wire)
Measurement of system voltage by the regulator should also come from the run position.
The field's ground is controlled by the regulator (green wire).

On the diagram I wasn't sure how you plan to power the equipment. It would be best to get the power from as close to the alternator as possible.
That does mean during starting power will have to go through the fusible link to the alternator stud first, but that's the advantage of a fusible link over a fuse for the charging wire.

Not quite sure how your temp switch will supply power in the start position so I left the remnants of the OEM system in the diagram although disconnected.
 
I also just read an old thread on a different forum where someone had the same thing happen and it was because the converter had ballooned.
 
Only goes on crank one way.
But i parked the flex plate on another torque,has room for bolts.
So maybe it ballooned like i read somewheres.
 
Got my C2C floor panel in very happy, prob 18 Ga. And it is from their house check them out!
