As far as the electrical lesson goes, dont know why but i never took one glance at any of the diagrams posted. I should, as i will be doing electrical in both my cars. But reading the explanations are getting through.

Hey!
What's next now that the engine has been run in?
Well next thing is to put the inner valve springs back in. Probably do some tuning and learning of the fuel injection. I have a Painless wiring harness to deal with and the list goes on and on!

I wrenched professionaly for years. Fixed and repaired countless electrical issues yet never truly understood the systems. It’s cool to finally start understanding it as I am starting from scratch on this one. And a shout out to @Mattax for all the great advice, clarification and diagrams! Much appreciated!

Actually my purpose here is to help Chris by giving him practice in comparing the diagrams the way he did yesterday. :welcome:

You ought to tag the diagrams with the notes you've given and put it all in the "How To" section here at FABO.

Well I've been learning the hard way. I think it was having to understand my '85 SJ's wiring that forced me to think about what I was redrawing. I know at least few of you can kick my butt when it comes to electronics, especially the hands on stuff. I have yet to solder diodes into my alternators. That's on my to do list. (yea I know, its kindof silly, the square backs are better. I just would like to have them as ready to go spares and learn to do the work in process.)

The SJ wiring diagrams are almost impossible to follow, and they didn't do a new one in '85, or clearly seperate the pickup trucks from the wagons (different lighting).

What would be the point of diodes

My wife comes to me and says she wants a newer iPhone. She says it’s because her old one has no memory and she can’t upload any apps or system updates. She goes on to say Verizon checked it and says there is nothing they can do and she just needs a newer phone.

Bullshit, I said. There is no reason your are out of memory, there is something wrong with your phone. She didn’t believe me, but I took it and sure enough...the photo memory usage is 90% of the total system memory but she only has about a dozen photos on her phone.

I searched a bit and it turns out to be an iOS glitch where every photo ever taken is held in a phantom memory that you can’t access. Reset the date manually to 20 years ago and they suddenly all appear and can be deleted permanently.

I gave her the phone back and told her she doesn’t need a new one.

Wow!
And shame on Verizon.
I'll stop now before going onto a rant about Verizon's 'repair' practices....:mob:

WooHoo :steering:It says there's one in Bakersfield  Might have to detour by there on the way to Famoso or the oval track.
Note to self "Remember Stockdale Highway self, No matter how far it is out of the way"
