Duster De-ruster
Much over 1/8 not usually an issue unless it grabs, or you get angled. The harder a bit is the better it holds an edge, but also the easier it is to break. Get down to like a 32nd and breath wrong its done. LOL
I had this as deep as it goesSmall bits break easy...I think its the length that is key. I try to chuck regular bits as deep in as I can.
I don't fee as dumb then. I was going thru two sheets of 18 gauge. Making the holes for the Cleckos on my darts floor pansMuch over 1/8 not usually an issue unless it grabs, or you get angled. Like these. Ever since owning my auto upholstery business, I always have a supply of them in my toolbox. I use the hell out of them. Most body shops use double ended 1/8 bits. They are short and wear out before they break.

if you cant keep the 2 sheets tight together it's probably twisting off center and breaking when hits second sheet.I don't fee as dumb then. I was going thru two sheets of 18 gauge. Making the holes for the Cleckos on my darts floor pans
still good, but like so many others - not what they used to be...Irwin makes good stuff.
Ummm, Dijya put sum seelar onum?Speaking of header bolts, was rechecking and tightening all the bolts after the break in and i’ll be damned if the 4 corner header bolts are leaking coolant now Shoulda just left them alone, they weren’t leaking coolant or exhaust before!

Yeah, likely. Even though my fat butt was sitting on it there was still some playif you cant keep the 2 sheets tight together it's probably twisting off center and breaking when hits second sheet.
Yeah, guessing it broke the seal I had. Looks like I’ll have to be more liberal with the sealer next time. I hate that word liberal, gives me the willy’s!Ummm, Dijya put sum seelar onum?

I had this as deep as it goes
(Insert Karl's that's what she said here)
It was only about an inch long at that point. Snapped off right at the tip of chuck.
Question, anyone have a good recommendation for a good 1/8 in drill bit, for sheet steel? I broke one today and kind of don't want that to happen again

the menards multi-pack is what brokeFind a good multi pack at Menards....
Like Dave showed is good...
Actually that sounds like you are pushing it too hard and got a little off center. Use a sharp bit and just keep it tight to the metal. Let it cut, don't try to push it through. It was only about an inch long at that point. Snapped off right at the tip of chuck.
I hate that stuffPut that silver powder stop leak in the radiator and run it for 40 minutes and it will stop the leaks...
