Stop in for a cup of coffee

150 mile round trip to see my dad. Gotta love the Hemi MDS in the 300C!

Yeah, guessing it broke the seal I had. Looks like I’ll have to be more liberal with the sealer next time. I hate that word liberal, gives me the willy’s!
Leave Willy out of this.

Seriously. More is not better. Just right is bestest. :) You don't want excess blobs getting forced into the coolant. The stuff Keith posted should work well. Loctite has two or three versions as well. Differences are subtle, none critical.
Critical is the threads are good. These pipe sealants will have trouble with a stripped out thread. They don't ever become rock hard. Some guy was having problems (posted in the forum) and claimed these thread sealants don't work for headers. Well, they don't work for him because his heads have a hole, not because the temperature is too hot or some other thing. The temperature in the hole is pretty close to that of the coolant - not the 1200 * of the exhaust.

Any chance you can get studs reinstalled? Even if they have to be shortened a little, I prefer them. I know, sometimes there's just no room. Figured I'd ask.

Gotta hate when it doesn’t get rock hard after putting your stud in!

(In before Karl)

I Thought you had the MDS turned off?
I did, just about 6 months ago. Had the Durango almost 3 years now.

And that makes no sense since I get 17 mpg on the highway in my ‘06 SRT with no MDS, 3.92 rear, and a custom tune adding 20% extra fuel.

It's true. If I stretch it till the light comes on, I can maybe, maybe get 300-310 mile range. On a 34 gallon tank. If I hit the gas station right as the Light comes on, max fill up is a tad over 29 gallons. I usually try filling up at 1/4 tank, usually around 250 miles. That's usually around 23-25 gallons.

I drove it to work Thursday, filled up at the gas station 7 miles from my house, 55 miles each way to work, I was sitting just barely above half tank when I got home.

Then there is something seriously wrong with your vehicle.

When was the last time you changed the plugs? The 5.7 requires new copper core plugs every 30k miles..

And the tank level on the gauge is irrelevant. What were the MPGs? Did you fill up again at the same station and pump and check it?

Sooo...29 gallons for a 300 mile ride? That’s less than 11 mpg. Something isn’t making sense.

In February.

Roughly 11
