Stop in for a cup of coffee

Get a pic. How much you want to throw into this thing? Your just about to the point of no return.

I would be more worried about the lines especially the rubber if OEM and the master if OEM also.

Yeah I know. Honestly starting to think about returning the idea of upgrading to discs with the sheer cost of the drums. They're 90 a piece of rock auto but it's the dang shipping, 30 EACH

Seriously what do you want out of this thing?
To be honest with you ray, I really have no clue. It started as a hey I can roadkill this to my daughter falling in love with it to now my wife. Somewhere in there, I did too. Right now, I'll be happy to have it safely driving. I don't care about the looks. So I guess a down and dirty budget driving project if you wanna call it that?

The chrome dipstick wasnt an upgrade, it was a necessity.
I’d run the drums too. Iffn it was me, i’d consider machining the lip off, leaving the raised ring.
But i has a brake lathe...

Save as much as you can and keep away from upgrades. Each one adds more parts to the "LIST"
I know. But we're talking 20 dollars difference, assuming I can find spindles for what I've seen them going for on here. . Only place available for new drums is online, shipping is expensive. Disc stuff, all I need for the upgrade is the spindles from an A body, I have the caliber brackets. The ball joints and everything is the same. Hoses are the same. Then it's buying pads, calibers and rotors, all of which are a available locally.

The biggest X factor is the master cylinder conversion from the single to dual.

I really didn't want to upgrade but drums being damaged, may become a situation where it'd make more sense too.

Rotors, pads, calibers locally combined under 100 bucks.

Spindles 175-200

275- 300 for the conversion

Drums ordered, 240 bucks 90 ea, 30 each to ship

Rock auto or other online places are the only places with the shoes , cylinders and hardware available: 60 bucks plus 13 to ship it.

313~bucks plus a 10 percent discount puts new brakes at 270-275 approximately for drums.

Master cylinder and such not included but the disc brake one is 7 bucks more than the single polara original style. Will need new one regardless.

only nicked a couple wires. Tape is to undersize panel ,either to step it or finish cutting to exact size for butt welding.

That's what surprised me when I got my polara. Now go look at the body weights. They are VERY close. Much closer than I thought they'd be. Within 100 pounds of each other

Butt welding is better - but more intimidating for those of us low on the learning curve!
Tack then spot and stitch, Use .023 wire at a lower power. Tough to do without warping for sure. The body shop that did my 1/4 patches has a new wire brazer. It melts brass at a low temp to help with the heat build up.

What is this, like the 80’s??or was that the late 70’s?

So I may have an answer as to why I can't post videos on YouTube. Apparently it's a IPhone glitch. I gotta have a premium account or pay the 5 bucks for the special YouTube app to change the format. Decisions decisions
