Stop in for a cup of coffee

The city council meeting. What a goat and pony show.

I watched a few of Lazze’s videos. Some pretty good ideas.
I tried some metal shrinking, looks like it will work, but it takes time with the shrinking fork. Ran out of time to finish the panel today.

My daughter made me a card for my birthday. That little artistic nut didn’t fall far from the tree!

And just to make it her own unique style, it was done with nail polish and marker...free hand on card stock paper. The green is a true metallic color.

She continues to impress me with her innate artistic abilities!

I asked her what kind of car it was. She just looked at me and said “It’s one of those old Jeep wagons like we saw at the car show.”

And so it is!

Yes it is! She will go far. She could be a cartoonist!

So, i have been installing remote starters since the late 80’s.
Gave up a few years ago, multiplex wiring and so many interface modules. Was getting frustrating. I never thought i would pay someone to install one for me.
The gentleman i have been referring customers to,which i have never met,did one for me tonight.
Good guy,did an a/c evac for me at the same time.

Gave me a good deal due to the referrals.
Wife is happy, her remote start is in before winter, i’m happy i didnt have to do it.came right to the shop and did it.

Remote starters are great, both for Winter cold and blazing Summer heat. I never had one before the 300 C and now I want one on all my vehicles!

I even have one in my 1980 power wagon. Kicker on the carb to activate choke and kick it off after it warms up.
I have a programmer, set it to run as long as i want.
Its a genuine command start.
Did you know- Inventor is from winnipeg? Prototype was built from a garage door opener. I still have an early one that used the dip switches You had to match to the remote. I think i have 5 of the 7 or 8 generations.

I've had mixed results with remote starters, factory installed one I LOVE! Aftermarket self installed or shop installed, nothing but problems. Got put into cuffs one night when driving home from the county fair in the 05 ram, the after market remote start tied into the headlight lights and brake lights, suddenly it malfunctions down a dark country road and I lost all lights and the truck shut off, with a County sheriff deputy right behind me. Nearly rearended the truck. Needless to say he wasn't happy. Put me in cuffs, sat me down until he finally listened to me and started trying to start the truck and turned the headlight switch. He let me go but made me tow it home. Found the remote starter box fried the next morning and ripped that sucker out

Never installed a remote starter that tied into headlights. Im talking like 6-700 units i installed.
Parklights only. And the unit is 100% inactive while driving.

Sounds like a crap install by a hack. That should never happen if it is done right.

I have seen the grounds screwed down through a plastic trim panel then into steel. I used to solder the wire into ring terminal. Better the ground seemed to improve range on some units.

Yeah. But that's only the worst case. When I worked for the diesel shop, we'd get guys coming in all the time, fried ecms from them shorting out. Usually like you said , crap installs.

One guy, he deployed, lent his mom his truck, a 6 speed manual. One day she drove it to Lowes for a new washer, hit the remote start button, came out to find the lifted 3500 ram dually had driven over several cars before high centering on one after the thing started in gear
