Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good morning from the humid low country. Not complaining, seeing NC. I stopped by Mr. Davis to check on "Rudy" my '95 Tercel, like the undersized football player just keeps going. Wheel bearing was noisy, he replaced it, then the spindle failed and I had it towed in...he replaced it at NO charge. Very, very nice of him. I'd like to thank him somehow. Hmmm.

Going to let a young coworker drive the Fury, helping me get both cars back home. He is 24 and the youngest server, has a little boy, his wife was too young I guess because she cheated on him with an older married man and he divorced her. I like Bret because he is helpful and takes constructive criticism and he's the eternal optimist, he never quits. He said he has driven an "old" truck but I know he's never driven a Fury!! Will buy him lunch at a home-cooking place nearby.

Flying out for MN wedding in the morning, will get everything ready today. September 2018 is a good month for me!
What does age have to do with why she cheated. Bitches be bitches no matter what age. I know faithful girls of all ages too

gotta go with you on this one. My sister in law doing just that to her husband as we speak. its disgusting

Almost any coating. Problem is you usually cant coat completely. Areas between, under, behind... But water and bugs can get to them.
i figured coating the entire piece of lumber, post cut, but before being screwed together for the box. doesnt have to last forever, just dont want it rotting out in 4 months

Try again

That should hold up a while. Stuff has been built of wood outside long before pressure treated. Better you coat it -longer it lasts. Got any wood sided barns? Are they pressure treated?

Cedar. My garage is covered in cedar. No rot. Near 50 years old. Paint has long fallen off.

actually, yeah. but those barns we have were made of things like OAK, or Walnut or Cedar. not white pine.

My belvedere got delivered !!!!

So nice to be able to sit in it and drive to PA in my mind.

The trunk is huge and the car is every bit of 60s I thought it would be.

I had the theory that it looked worse than it actually is. I was right!!! One side hardly has any rust at all.

The body definitely needs work but what is there can be worked so no expensive panels to hunt.

I am glad too, because I have a feeling the sedan specific parts would be a challenge to find

Yay!!

You are actually supposed to treat your cuts with that on pressure treated. I never have. I thought about it, but could not find in store. Usually coat whole thing with color sealer anyway. As said above, there are always cuts you cant get to once assembled.
Make a plywood box large enough to hold one piece or more at a time and line it with plastic, then fill it with preservative, and let lumber soak some. Do all lumber and no more problems with rot or bugs.

You can get 5 gallon containers...
