A little supper before the concert.

And you wonder why the significant other is sleeping on the couch...

I’ve been off pizza for a little while. Last time I had it, it was an uncomfortable night. Probably just circumstance.

I might get some tonight...still thinking about it.
Those little carrots. Or baby carrots. They tried to kill me. Never has anything made me so ill at night.
Regular garden carrots,no problemo...

Yeah we got smoke, ash and the sun has been red since Wednesday here. A friend of ours lost their home. It’s been one hell of a couple years for fires that’s for sure.
Us too. Probably from the northern reaches. High altitude stuff, no odor, no ash, no sun, it's dark already.

Entirely the wrong spot for this question, but anyone happen to have, or the ability to make (coupled with sincere kindness) a template for where the twin scoops for a 1971 Demon should be placed. I just bought a set and need to affix them on a stock flat hood.

The answer is simple.

Draw the center line of the hood. The center line of each scoop is halfway between that and the outer edge of the hood. The back edge of the scoop is 4.5” forward of the rear of the hood at the center line of the scoop. The center line of each scoop is parallel to the centerline if the hood.

Place the scoops on these dimensions and mark the drill holes for the studs.

I made a big mug of coffee this morning and when I poured the sugar in from an old diner sugar bottle, the top came off and I dumped 1/4 of the bottle into the cup. Bummer.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is in place and will soon be strung with 50,000 lights as one of New York City’s star holiday attractions, a gift from married couple.

The 72-foot-tall, 12-ton Norway spruce arrived on a flatbed trailer Saturday morning and was hoisted by a crane into a spot overlooking the Rockefeller skating rink. Millions of people are expected to visit the tree, which will stay up till Jan. 7.

Crowds will see the tree burst alive with 5 miles (8 kilometers) of LED multicolored lights and a 900-pound Swarovski crystal star during a televised ceremony on Nov. 28.

The 75-year-old spruce came from Wallkill, 60 miles (96 kilometers) north of New York. It was donated by Lissette Gutierrez and her wife, Shirley Figueroa, from their home property. They nicknamed the tree “Shelby.”

“Now it’s not my tree, it’s the world’s tree; I’m so happy to be able to share her with everyone,” Figueroa said at Rockefeller Center on Saturday. “Millions of people will come to visit Shelby”.

My heart aches.

A 76 rear old beautiful living tree killed to celebrate Christmas...there is something fundamentally wrong in that. Millions of people coming to celebrate its death and decoration makes it even more so.

The Lorax would cry...as do I.

While working for manitoba conservation i was part of the group that had to harvest a tree for the town christmas display.
First meeting i suggested they hire a large tree spade and transplant one. They all looked at me like i was an idiot. Any idea how much it would cost?
Lets see, there was 5 from conservation ,days wages say 1000. Plus the tractor, trailer and 2 trucks.
Hydro with the pole setting truck and another 5 guys,a couple town employees and admin from the 3 groups.
Consertavely,3 thousand to set a dead tree.
Bet the biggest tree spade in the province wouldnt cost that much.
Even if it was double, so what?

Transplant one big tree, and its good for a very long time.

That being said, the trees taken were mostly something that was due to be removed, clearing for construction or one was a visibility hazard scheduled to be cut down by higways.

I’m allowed to cut down trees, because i planted about 30 thousand. I spent a few summers in my youth planting trees.
And those plantations are over 30 years old now.

Not sure if that is the case with this years tree, but I have seen stories of others that needed to be removed for one reason or another. I did read that Rockefeller trees are donated to Habitat for Humanity to build houses.

I bought a better looking ashtray and receiver this week, and got it yesterday. The metal part didn't need much work had dirt, grime, and cig stain. I took and wet sanded it using medium corse paper and concentrated simple green. A little elbow grease and it cleaned up.
I'd send it to you, but buddy is painting my dash and parts later this week.
Do you dip the parts when you zinc them or apply the zinc with heat??
I haven't a clue to the process.
