Stop in for a cup of coffee

Morning and happy Sunday to all. Cold and snowed a bit last night. Got the kitchen project done, didnt make it out to the shop. Woke with a migraine today. Happening more often lately. Has calmed down to just a bad headache now at least.

Karl like you have tons of leaves. Several oak trees in out front and back yard. Lucky for me have a creek and 30 acres of trees behind us (not mine). I have a rider mow them into a pile (have an acre) and rake them. Into the big wheelbarrow and dumped in the woods. Have to do it 3-4 hours three times. Not my favorite job.
My wife used to take care of that job, Until she got tired of me asking, if she was Blowing today...Go figure......:eek:

My mower is a mulcher... But I have too many leaves to just mulch and leave... (pun intended, Leaf/Leave...)

I live across from a forest preserve and have a fully wooded lot with lots 'o trees....

Luckily, most of the leaves are down, I need to get them up before the rest fall and make it deeper and harder on the mower...

I will have to empty the bag every 1 1/2 to 3 passes to get them up...
Hey Karl
Get a hurricane,of course you have to get in the blower business....

I probably drove past it every time I went to the oval track. 400K plants . Planted just like they plant berries and covered up with their Hoops (portable green house).

I thought @Ddaddy was working with Joey on a calendar, but combined for all the For ****Only sites
I was helping Joey with some layout ideas and photo edits for it, but I haven’t heard anything from him for a few weeks. Last I saw the intent was to combine it for A, B and C body sites.

Didn't read the whole thing... So they weedwacked it. Then what? Let dry and come back. Rake up, and?....

After further research, the plants were in various stages of growth. The very young plants were just mowed down. The larger plants were pulled and carted away for disposal. Those hoops are everywhere around here these days. They grow many varieties of berries under them, a green house type environment. Only visible evidence of what is growing would be at the end of the rows where the hoop is open and that is plenty easy to camouflage. Drip systems save water, less affected by frost and wind and rain. Very effective.

we used to be able to burn the leaves, but now it is banned...

We used to blow them into our flagstone lined creek, then light them and burn them...

It was much easier than picking them up....

Snowing steady.
All i can think about is next spring. Putting the addition on my shop. Will try to come up with some plans over winter, figure out my roof and how im going to connect it to shop.

I might run the mower again today. I have managed to keep up with mulching the leaves. I think its been at least 3 years since I had to bag them. Did the Seafoam the other day. Want at least get the bowl off carb and maybe a new fuel filter. Not sure if I will change oil now or wait till spring. Will only get a couple hours on it yet this season.
well that sucked...
now the carb bowl leaks.:BangHead: The seal is pretty much just an oring which has expanded slightly over sized, so won't seat right now that I moved it. That and it smokes frequently. I think changing the oil soaked air cleaner helped with that, but that's when I realized it was leaking and shut it down. Not wasting any more time with it today. Push mowed most of the leaves.

Us too. We have a dandy yard waste facility across town. They grind it all up and turn it into compost. There's a huge pile to use for free and they sell semi loads commercially. With the Emerald Ash Borer problem, all the usable tree trunks are sold to sawmills and the smaller stuff is cut into fire wood. (free as well to the citizens) and the sticks are chipped or ground for mulch and compost.

Got my plow pump installed, tested and all is good.
Cleaned my windows and dusted off the dash. Ready for snow.
