Cut the ends off and use the right length and you can find these in Stainless. One end is the same as your thread and then keep the left handed par and just trim it
 
My goal for the weekend is to get my rear end back together and maybe exhaust on..
 
You can even cut the barrel and weld it back up to shorten it. I am doing this currently to fix my 3pt hitch on my tractor

I'll see what the options are. I'll have plenty to work with I think.

Gotta figure out how to get the gooseneck hitch out of the bed.
