Stop in for a drink.

The mashing is done. The LME is in. Just cooling things off so I can pitch yeast. It smells like a bakery in my basement.

Pitch the yeast. The science project continues.

Bumper to bumper commute home in the rain. It took an hour and 45 mins to go 20 miles. :BangHead:

I need a beer!
sounds bad Ddaddy that's why I live here only takes 20 minutes to go 20 miles on a bad snow day. Been in your neck of the woods last October and couldn't believe how bad the traffic was.
My daughter lives in Pittsburgh and was in Hershey PA. for the swap meet and your toll roads over there suck.
Not trying to say anything bad about where you live beautiful country and good people but to many people for me to handle.

It’s nice here, but it sucks if you have to commute anywhere for work over 10 miles. When I work from home and only need to run local errands, it’s fine. Fighting the masses on the highways during rush hour is pure hell.

Funny thing is, that same commute that took me an hour 45 coming home during rush hour only took me 26 mins going into the office at 10:30 am today. It’s all about the rush hour timing.

If I leave at 7:30 am...75 mins. Arrival 8:45 am

If I leave at 8:15 am...43 mins. Arrival 8:57 am

If I leave at 8:30 am...50 mins. Arrival 9:20 am

If I leave at 9:15am...26 mins. Arrival 9:41 am

Leaving at 7:30 am puts me in the office only 13 mins earlier than leaving at 8:15 am. Leave 45 mins later but arrive only 13 mins later.

Bizarre...but true.

I believe it. Damn Ddaddy your precise.

Something happened today that I have been thinking about and trying to process.

I ran into the former Chairman of the Board of a company that I worked for 10 years ago. This is a guy that I made a lot of money with working for him and he completely trusted me and let me do what I thought best...no questions asked.

He has made over $400 million in his last two deals and has a wing of the University of Pennsylvania School of Law named after him. He is the real deal and incredibly successful. He drives a $400k McLaren Spyder as a daily driver...because he can. But talk cars with him, and he’s just a regular car guy like anyone on this forum.

Anyway, he kept telling me about how much fun he had working with me and that he was thinking about “putting the band back together” once he closes his current $240 million deal. He kept calling me “family” and that he has me in mind for something special in his next gig.

I don’t know what to think...but I told him “I’m always interested and you know where to find me.” He just smiled and said “I have been keeping close track of you and I will be in contact when the time is right.” Then he winked at me.

I honestly don’t know what to think of this. He doesn’t bullshit, but “next gig” could be an indefinite time frame. I am just amazed that he has been tracking me and making sure he knows how to find me when he wants to.

I never expected that.

Pays to be smart but dose he have a spot for a dumb guy like me??

Nah, you aren’t dumb..just don’t have all the knowledge of this business...yet.

This guy likes capable people...and I’m quite sure you are very capable. While you might not have all the knowledge required, I’d be willing to bet with some good guidance and direction you would be like a bulldog on a rabbit, getting it done.

I would always seriously consider someone like you on my team. I value capability and drive over absolute knowledge...hands down.

To old and retired but again thanks.

Stopped by Anton's Garden on the way home from rehab. A quaint little German style pub with nothing but outside seating. Fun place. Ran into an old friend and had a few beers. Well 4 or 5 Octoberfest. I think 5% or so. WTF, it's Friday.
