Stop in for a drink.

Rough day. Rolled over in bed about 4 am and my low back slipped out of position. Holy Hell, the pain was unreal. Tried to stretch and get it to go back but the pain was so intense there was almost nothing I could do. By 6 am, I was exhausted from trying and got up and dressed. Just putting my clothes on was a 30 minute pain filled ordeal.

It took most of the day for some of it to shift back in place and the muscle spasm are still going. I think it’s all back in alignment now (mostly anyway) but the muscle spasms aren’t done yet.

Trying to dampen the pain with a few beers now.

I hope I can at least get some sleep tonight...

Hope you get feeling better Dave. I have low back issues as well. I know where you are coming from. Cheers!

My day started similar. Woke up with the dog laying against me. Went to stand up and had extreme stabbing pain in lower back./hip. I started(slowly)walking around cause I figured if I layed down, I might not be able to stand up again. within 5 min pain was completely gone. I guess something was out and went back in place...

Well, my back is better today. Not 100% but over 90%. Beats the hell out of the pain I was in yesterday!

I think the big trick was carb loading before bed with a big bowl of pasta...I slept like a rock for 6 hours before I woke, and then gently rolled over every couple of hours..and then went back to sleep. I stayed in bed for 9 hours....slept for about 8 of them. Then I spent all day moving and stretching.

Having a few cold ones tonight and then do the same tonight and tomorrow.

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.

The new group running the company is pushing me over the edge. It will be a miracle if I don't quit by Friday. I can tolerate a lot of crap at work but screwing me around on pay is a line that I have never, and will never, tolerate being crossed....and they crossed it.

They either back up and make it right or I am gone like a fart in a hurricane.

Time for a beer.

I like the way you think Dd .. About the beer too.

I have built a large reserve of emergency cash for just this kind of bullshit. I can comfortably go over a year before needing to find another job and still take another 6 months to land it...and never touch my retirement funds.

I’m willing to bet they have no idea how fast I will just stop playing their game, quit and move on.

Oh yeah, and if it comes to that and the dumbasses try to entice me back they will find that my pay rate just doubled.

A few months off working around the house, finishing my novel and playing with the GTS sounds just fine to me right now. Maybe I will even get my graphics business up and running along the way too.

And the off the wall job offer from your former employer the other day

Dang, I just read that someone I know was shot and killed. I knew Roman because he owned a barber shop and I did some work there. He was a good stylist for being a straight man. Even through he didn't cut "lady hair"

Sad news because he was also a pastor who helped me a lot. His specialty was at risk inner city kids which I was not but he didn't discriminate and still helped me out, with Bible study and the hair stylist stuff.

Pueblo mourns beloved pastor shot by son

Hard to figure why anyone would want to kill a good guy like that.

Yep. And it gets better...I literally just got a recruiter email looking for a Senior VP of CMC closer to home than this current gig. They want to talk on Wednesday.

“Hi David,

I’m reaching out regarding our firms partnership with XXXXX in ***, PA for a highly influential Senior Vice President, CMC role.

XXXXXX is a deeply scientific, private pharmaceutical company with a broad pipeline of novel, anti-infective, preclinical and late stage programs. XXXXX is well-capitalized with $250 million in Gov’t Funding & $45 million raised to date.

Entering a pivotal stage of development, the SVP, CMC will drive strategic direction as the lead program quickly advances towards a NDA filing. This highly visible leadership role will be vital to the future success of XXXXX.

We are only reaching to exceptional leaders who are known for their creative, strategic approach and you stood out as someone that we want to connect with.”
