That’s funny! It looks like Spock is having some Tequila and McCoy is trying to figure out why he isn’t getting any!
WTF Spock! Where's mine? Spock needs a shot glass in his hand. LOL

I think those Santa Ana winds down south are bouncing off the Channel Islands and approaching us from the south. Not a Santa Ana direction :realcrazy:. It's dry dry dry, desert dry, no humididity.

"Yule Like This Ale" from start to finish. (bottling not drinking) LOL

Decisions, decisions. Never go to the beer store when you are thirsty! LOL!

And this is just a small part of the store...

Website and instructions say it comes with dry ale yeast (S-04), yet they call it a lager and show dry lager yeast in the picture of ingredients. I'd be weary about buying that kit unless you verify that it comes with lager yeast.
Nope, Ale yeast is a top feeder and lager yeast is a bottom feeder. Ale will ferment faster.

Understood. Why are they calling it a lager then? That was my question.

At leat the link above for the black lager actually comes with lager yeast. Though, you'd be best off if you had a way to ferment the s-23 at lower temps to produce the lager flavors.

You get more flavors from the grain bill and the hops than the yeast. Lager matures in cool storage. I'm sure the yeast is just chosen because of it's characteristics and may be a flavor profile. These guys try different combinations and choose the one that mimics the original.

I have two of my three son's visiting and one is drinking a Modelo, the other a Moscow Mule and, for me, a martini with a spicy asparagus "stick". Mom is sipping a Chardonnay. Ham hock and bean soup is ready, corn bread still to go.

Yea **** and I'm drinking Bud light and having a bowl of my famous canned chili and chips.
Ham hock sounds good.

805 here :D with the finale of the weekend's airshow raging overhead. 20 minutes ago I believe they were doing a mock battle complete with window rattling explosions :realcrazy: Winter is comin' on Pink beans and Ham does sound good.
