The thing is when you go public on a forum this big and complain about a person, a company or anything, you are stirring up a hornets nest no matter the reason for doing it.
The complaint was purely customer service, plain and simple, nothing more, nothing less...

Wait a minute On a discussion forum, we're not supposed to collectively discuss where we've got good/bad service from to help people ???..
Now I am lost...

Let's put this into perspective. Take Hughes out the equation. The OP is beating his chest about years of experience. DECADES of experience. To which I'm not doubting. Nor am I doubting that Dave can be "short". The OP has basically already all but admitted to being sloth about not wanting to take the engine apart to make it right. Anyone who has done any semi-serious small Mopar effort, knows that these parts DO NOT just fall together. The reason for Chevy just falling together is the eons of support for the platform. So to banter about 1.6 Chevy roller rockers just falling in, compared to the Mopar that has to be modified, is apples to oranges. Ignorant almost.
Yup. My point from the jump.

The super expert didn’t even read the instructions.

They are clear enough for a high schooler to read and understand.

Then he calls Dave and says hey, your **** doesn’t fit. And Dave says **** it, this guy is over his head so he has him send them back.

Of course, now he’s double pissed at Dave because Dave didn’t whisper sweet nothings in his ear and tell him yeah, it’s my fault because the directions aren’t clear buddy.

I’ll give you a full refund and pay the freight and I’ll save the restocking fee because I didn’t make the directions clear.

Even though he could have wasted time and tried to help him over the phone, Dave said screw it send them back.

Makes perfect sense to me.

It’s clear who the inexperienced crybaby is.

No it’s not you liar. The OP didn’t read the instructions and got talked to like a man and he’s whining.

And you support the whiner. That says a lot about you.

BTW, the next time we are in public together make sure you stop by and reintroduce yourself.

And... how dare the OP change the title of this thread, mid stride, just when the momentum was going strong.

Now the buying public will not see a warning, the pros and cons to make an educated decision. lol

actually.... i put 1.6 rockers on our ashley's 350sbc and had to machine (slot) the pushrod holes for clearance. but it's just one of those things that needed doing. no instructions to say it'd need doing either. i didn't piss and moan at the supplier here in the uk, it just seemed obvious that a non standard part would need checking and/or modifying if needed.
neil.

no instructions to say it'd need doing either.
The note of this possibility was in my instructions, and I bought his rockers a long time ago.
It`s note 14? down the list.
I lucked out as mine were Indy X heads and the pushrod just barely cleared.

I've never had a SBM standard location head need modifying for standard location 1.6 rockers.
I've seen 3/8 push rods rub once in a while, improper spring diameter rub rockers, geometry kits that need the P.R holes pushed toward the intake/ V.C rail. The only things I really like from Hughes would be the Magnum 50 state legal fuel injection dual plane intake kit.
The rest, like their cap girdles have been proven marginal at best

What is wrong with you people.... you just make any subject
you want to and run with it. Blame it on the o. P. Pick up anything, he said along the way and turn it into that... When really the subject here, I can't say enough. I can't stop saying it. It's customer service plain and simple...
Unbelievable....
I'm going to go ahead and push the unwatch on this thread. It's just full of egos and people with bad attitudes...
Later losers I got stuff to do....

Bye Felicia. Go melt somewhere else you clown poser.

Dave Hughes and Uncle Tony should do a collaboration together..
One yells ...while the other ***** his pants.
Dave can supply all his parts that need modifying to work... while Tony modifies them to unusable states of non returnable door stops.

It'll be great...
