The " **** or get off the pot" association thread

Plot We got off to a bad start awhile back. Maybe because we think the same. I have stripped and sold so many mopars in the past and still do. I had over 21 340 Dusters that went through here in the last 5 years alone and thats just 340 Dusters. I buy Cars fix the easy ones and strip the rest for parts to make money. I know alot of others do the same but do not have the energy or the means to get it done on our level. You keep on doing what your doing.

I am already into the newer mopars. Including turbo cars and Diesel trucks. I have several Omni glh's and shelby's here now. If you enjoy buying cars to get what you need and sell the rest go for it.

My duster has a 30K plus drive line and I bartered for it all. I stripped and traded Ray Barten a 1968 340 formula S 4spd cuda FB for my Block and Converter.. Any 67-69 Dart or Cuda I get ny hands on are doomed. He pays good.

My 93 Dodge diesel I had forsale on here I sold for $15,000. When it came down to it. After buying and stripping and parting all the dodge diesels for this build I paid myself over $10.000 to build it before I even sold it.

Never let anyone get in the way of you providing for your family. If you find it its yours to do what you want. Sometimes parting them brings more cash then selling them. Where do you think Brewers is getting their parts to recondition. From guys like us. I travel the states for some and I always say I am going to fix this one and keep it . But I don't. I just keep the inventory flowing and keep what I want for a while. It keeps me going . I am 56 and been doing this strong for many years. since the early 80's . I Have bought and stripped alot of Nostalgia Mopar race cars year back. Some of those i alway say I wish I would have kept. But I just dismantled another sold the motor went to NY. Always use yellow freight for big parts. Ive shipped complete front clips the buyer pays on his end. You do nothing but drop it at the depot. Oh by the way I am the guy who you never showed for the Scamp. Steve from Pa. So you do have my number.

FIRST, STEVE, IS HEMI-DENNY YOUR BROTHER? even if i am not comming up there to buy something, i must take a trip up to your place,a nd shoot the ****, and check out your rides. i know you have alot of them.lol . yes, i did not make it out to you. i apoligized for that. i hope it is behind us.

now, pm me your number as i need that carpet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol

All my cars are worth more in parts than I could sell them for !!!
If I fell ill, lost my business or was losing my house.I would part them out.
Now lets all pray that does not happen...
Some cars are just not worth saving and helps other people get their cars back on the road.
I have parted hundreds of cars in the past.all types and makes to make ends meet...
The way I see it if you own it,it is your business to do WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO!

This is the bottom line for anyone who wants to complain about "parts cars" numbers matching or not. If anyone doesn't feel they need to make the most of their investments, then they must be "good Samaritans". Nothin' wrong with that. But you can't ***** when somebody else gets a good deal and turns it into profit. Hell we all want to find "the one" don't we? I know I'm always lookin' for a way to get extra cash, and I really don't care what others think about it. Most often it's jealousy or envy.

Hey Joe, I know that I've made comments in other threads about "when you gonna part it out" or "flip it". Comments from me were meant more of a joke and nothing serious. I meant no harm by it and I hope you didn't take my comments the wrong way. I will apologize for my comments if you felt it was a personal attack on you. Sometimes my big mouth does more harm than good.

I've got no problems with you doing what you do for a living. At least you're being productive and not sitting on the couch playing video games all day. lol

But what I wanna know is.... how in the heck do you find so many 340 cars? You're like a blood-hound for a-bodies. You can sniff one out from 100 miles away! :headbang:

Merry Christmas,
Wylde1.

If he gave that secret away more of us would be doing what he is....
LOL

It always comes down to the same thing. Plot has an issue, buyer has an issue..... Find craig's list, and save us the broadband.

maybe you need to find c.l, as you do not even know what you are talking about!. this has nothing to do with a buyer or seller. goof!

Can't we all agree to disagree?? Honestly, this is an opinon thing and everybody has one....No reason to argue over opinions. Every car that Joe has bought everyone else had the opprtunity to buy....he just got to him first.....

I have had plenty of hate mail also for parting out so many over the years especially the E-bodies:D I usually offer the entire car for sale and if it doesn't leave here on a trailer then it will leave here in many small boxes:glasses7:
Oh and since I am not working right now I am chasing 4 mopars right now that may or may not get parted.
Doug

Ah, you do what you have to do! You own it! I may or may not like it, but I don't own it. There only cars at the end of the day.
Trust me if it came down to your health (god forbid) or your car, it's a no brainer! Get over it! If your that concerned, by the piece of rolling steel yourself and you can save it for a rainy day.
There is a lot of saviors out there with high priced sale tags on junk cars that are complete but really should be crushed. They usually end up parting them out or keeping the for sale on it till they rust into the ground. Good for them.
Keep the cycle going.

This thread could get epic!
***** on people!!

Joe, this will be my last post on this thread. I dont claim to be a "know it all", my comment on the gold membership, I apologize for, BUT my point for that was if your hard work AND FABO is providing an income for you, then you should cough up the $30(ebay has fees), but you stated it just ran out, so again I apologize. You started a thread that in my opinion was sure to stir the pot. No I dont agree with what you do, but so what. It is your money and they are your cars, so you can do as you like. If I had the time/know how/resources, I MIGHT do the same thing. I wouldnt have an issue if these were /6 cars. But I think its just best that we agree to disagree.

I think the flpper can't see threw the $$$s here is the differnce from the enthusiasts. The flipper scours a huge radius and a setup network looking for anything cheap he can resale for a profit and knows ALL cars are worth more in boxes than on tires. The true enthusiats buys a hand full of cars at most and rebiulds them because they love the car haritage and body lines. So to say pay up or shut up is rediculos on a site where everyone already has a car or they wouldn't be here and can't buy ever car that they feel should be saved.Sure a flipper will have a few cars they like but chances are thay would sale those too if a good offer was made.i haven't been on the site all but I have noticed a few things. This is not a rant just trying to clear up why flippers get so much grief. And sure some cars are not worth restore to you and most others but some of thoses cars if left alone for another year or so(not bought by a flipper)"might" be found by some one that would fix it.I really dont see how parting a car is "saving" the art when you can buy about anything for these cars repoped,I do agree that it is "saving" buyers alot of money as new is expensive. For the most part entusiasts dont see flippers as enthusiasts but more as ambulance chasers. This is just my opinion of the differences and not directed towards anyone specific just clearing up why a flipper gets so much grief.

WE need a LIKE button

I didn't read through the entire thread.....but Joe, I don't see anything wrong with you doing what you do. Yes I can see where some people might get disappointed with how you operate......but there is nothing they can do to stop you....being that YOU OWN these cars in question. If they wanted to have a real say in the future of said cars than I guess they should have found a way to spit up the cash to be the owners of them.

I don't see anything wrong with it....for one....your doing what you have to do to put food on the table for your family and all the while you are offering parts from these cars right here on fabo which is helping a bunch of people bring their cars back to life.

So I say,buy em,build em,sell em,keep em......whatever.....as long as your happy and its all on the up and up.

that aside, id also like to say i can relate to what this post is about as just yesterday I posted a for sale ad for some stuff I am trying to sell for a couple extra bucks so we can give our son a good christmas.....almost immediately after posting the ad someone (won't name name's) jumped in wanting to start trouble for no good reason. Luckily a mod noticed and cleaned the persons posts out of my thread. But the point is that it seems like people would have a little respect. Just cause its the internet sometimes people think respect can go out the window.

Anyway Joe, keep on keepin on buddy

This is always a interesting topic of discussion where there are no winners or looser's in the end. The bottom line is deciding whether a car is too far gone to restore and that is in the eye of the owner. At least if you part them out someone will get use out of the pieces instead of the whole car. I had a buddy that started a 6 Pack Challenger resto before repop sheet metal was available. He found a solid parts car and was just about to cut the floor out of it when he decided it was too good of a car to part out. He ended up building the parts car to help finance the 6 Pack build. The parts car ended up in Collectors Guide. I found my old 73 Challenger a few months ago and decided it was too far gone for me to restore. Could it be done, sure. It would cost $30,000+ to do it and those cars don't bring much more than that done. If the guy buys cars, offers them for sale whole and then parts them out when they don't sell (and can make a buck doing it) so be it. If you're in the market for a 340 Duster or parts he seems to be the guy to go to for what you want or need. tmm

To all the chest beaters;

340plot goes and finds the cars, pays for them and hauls them to his place. He then makes a decision as to whether or not they are salvageable. He takes the time to either strip them down to sell the parts, or sell them whole. If you have the disposable income, why don't you make the trip, buy them up from 340plot and haul them to your place. My Demon was a 340/4spd car originally, someone stripped it down, long before I got it and I hope whoever ended up with the doors, decklid, and front clip put them to good use. I think I made one HELL of a deal on my race car, but that is my opinion and the car belongs to me. 340plot has has some seriously smoking deals on parts he has for sale. My thought to all the chest beaters is; GET OVER IT!

Joe, I can't say I totally agree with all the parting out but I have never made any negative remarks towards what you do, they are your cars....period.

Joe has offered these cars for sale before he parts them out, nobody buys them, guess what? Cars get parted and everything goes to a new home!! :D You had your chance to buy the car. His prices have never been outragous, always has a deal for us. Hell, I really wanted those skinny front runner Keystone mags he had but someone else asked first and got them, his price was so damn cheap on them I was jealous I didn't get them. :banghead: Everyone is happy to buy his parts, if we can't part out a 340 car why not let someone else do it instead? Then you don't feel guilty and you can still find your rare parts. :D I think he is doing people a favor here, he could always stop selling on FABO and list it all on eBay or CL, then nobody here gets the parts.

I parted out this car,http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=105599&highlight=buying+charger it was very rotted out. I didn't get many neg remarks about it but every good part came off and went to a new home, parts were shipped everywhere, including Hawaii. I paid $300 fot it and made WAY more stripping it. I would part these out all day long if I could get them that cheap.

Who cares what he does with them, they are his cars. People need money and do what they can to provide....I know I sure don't have a $ tree growing in my yard.

I haven't made any purchases from Joe but that is only cause I haven't need what he has. If something pops uo, I would be happy to do business with you Joe! :D

I'm sitting on a bunch of projects and parts that many have wanted. I am the guy that people hate because I wont sell them. The "cranky old geezer that will let them rust into the ground guy". So what? They are mine. If I want to part them, beat them or scrap them, they are mine. Sure I hate seeing the 340 cars getting parted, but then again, I am more than happy to find the few specific parts I need. I may cringe, but if I felt strongly enough, I guess I would ship them here, put em on blocks, throw a tarp on em, and dream about another one lol..

For what it is worth if people would read the Sale Ad rules they state
Respondants:
1.You may NOT post commentary in this forum.
2.You MAY post relevant questions about the item being sold.
3.Do not negotiate price in the ad. Do this by PM.
4.No flaming of sellers or their products
So if anyone does any of the above hit the report button and a moderator will go in and clean it up. If the problem persists the offender will be dealt with.....

At least you join in. There are some sellers on here who never post unless its a for sale thread. These are not enthusiasts and I thought that's who the site was for. Isn't it in the title somewhere.
