The way L.A. gets rid of street racers.

-
Crush 'em. Leave racing on the track. Its crazy out here. They should crush them on site as the tool is getting escorted into the squad car and the person they hit is getting pushed into the meat wagon. They auction these cars off and the dudes gang brothers buy it and race it again.

I agree on the dragstrip. There was a motorsports park agenda started 2 years ago in Santa Barbara county. Was supposed to be Santa Maria, the locale has quietly moved towards Lompoc.City council has approved it,financing is supposedly available.Supposedly simply dealing with logistics and paperwork among the old local street racing crowd.

Not trying to ruffle feathers...I will ask this as diplomatically as possible.......not normal for me, but here goes. Some of you are talking about "If someone did that to my car" and "Infringes on rights" and the like. What of the law abiding citizens rights who drive their cars within the law every day, day in and day out? What of the rights of pedestrian citizens? Bicyclists? The street racers are the ones breaking the law here. While it may be a grey area whether law enforcement has the "right" to do this, it's my opinion that the rights of law abiding citizens trump the "rights" of street racers. Far as I'm concerned, they should crush them all. Import or otherwise. Just ask anyone who has had a loved one killed or maimed for life by someone doing something stupid and illegal in a car that they could have done legally and safer on a race track. Not trying to start a war here.....I was respectful with this. It is just my two cents.

I remember reading about two racers that took off from a light to race.A car pulled out in front of the guy in the right lane and he rear ended the car killing both occupants of the third car !! Upon further investigation, the driver killed in the third car was the Race car drivers Mother !!! How would you like to live with that on your conscience ?? :burnout::burnout:

We all can talk about this with experience and a grain of salt.We all had fun for a while, and was forced out of it,or actually grew up.I love the street race type car (our style),but the vibe is wierd anymore.I street raced uo until the imports shown up,a accident woke me up.(not a musclecar,by the way!)

Instead of taking apart the car and selling the parts to get much needed money for the department, they crush the cars or blow them up.....really smart!!!

Yep, gets rid of them for good--forever.

Michigan might not be the best place to live, ha ha but it has its bright points. We got no red light or speed cameras, no car pool lanes, no dui check points--the police must see you drive wrong to stop and speak with you our state supreme court ruled over 10--15 years ago.

And we certainly don't crush cars for racing :D

Hey, it's cool. I can keep my tact and throw out my points of view. And to that I say high fines or jail time for negligence and/or murder. I think the system works. How 'bout if you have a barbecue at your house, and offer beer after beer to your guests, and on the way home one of them kills somebody? Confiscate your house? The person's car or house wasn't at fault.

BTW, I think drag strips are out of favor right now. I certainly miss LACR (L.A. County Raceway @ Palmdale)

If you look at who runs LA and California it all makes sense. These people in this state are morons. Remember, we spent 20 BILLION on welfare and illegal aliens here this year alone and these are the people that vote for laws like this. 90% of our laws make no sense whatsoever and usually pander to special interest. Let this be a warning to all you guys still living in the real United States because once you allow these people into your state they destroy it from within.

Brother, you said a mouthful.....especially "the REAL United States". California = countdown to collapse. I think over 80% of my daughter's school class is on the free lunch thing. My daughter and 1 or 2 others are not. But we digress....

I was up in Lompoc earlier in the year visiting my Mother and saw that petition at a local restraunt. I signed it and so did my Mom. They are going to have an 1/8 mile track as well as dirt bikes. I like that area and a local track would make it even better.

I had no idea that there was a street racing scene there as it is a pretty sleepy town.

Although we have a pretty cool 1/8 mile track there is still a street racing scene around here.

Awesome more 16 second ricers that we will never have to look at or hear again......

Street racing IS dangerous and this is coming from a person who has done it from the mid 1960's to present. The difference, and no excuse or supporting mechanism for it, is in the 60's almost every age group did it. Bigger was better and I'll show You attitude. BUT....the races were over in a matter of a few hundred feet at the most...if one car got out front and the other was not gaining , it was over. The lights were always turning red and it wound of being a couple blocks at the most. People today want to race for miles and at speeds over 70 plus....Again, not supporting street racing but I did and most likely will continue when I feel the conditions are right.

Ok since i know im not the only one that has been out for a cruise and some punk with his import pulls up and starts revving it up trying to get a race..Now every time this happens I find my self wanting to just suck this punk up one tube and spit him out the other, but it just so happens i find myself in an area or time of knight where should i play with the import
i know the cop is going to nail me as he will never hear that import.Turbos really help hide a small tuner cars sound and with a big block i make more noise at idle than he does a 8 grand.

So sadly i must say yes i just let him feel good that in his mind i chickened out.

anyone one else find them self in this trying spot, you know goobs of torque and hp and no where to hand out a *** whoopin.......:banghead:

Best part is when you give him a nod and a little blip. He takes off, you dont and the po-po out of his view across the street takes off after him alone. Done that a few times and my car isnt loud so I never get noticed.

Best part of that video is the radiators getting picked out... like a monkey grabbing a flea.....

Yes I have also had this dilemma, only mine is just a stock 318 with decent dual exaust! My old V8 sound matched with the appearance of a 1973 Plymouth Duster makes me a cop magnet. I might not even be able to beat a couple of these really modified ricers or something like a Subaru WRX, but if we were racing and he was going faster, I would still get pulled over first.

Car with style and noise = suspision:hiding:

No, it's the persons fault that did the drankin. Nobody shoved a funnel in their mouth. You can do all that you can do to keep somebody from drivin. Although I WOULD keep them from drivin. I've yanked valve stems outta wheels before. It works good. But all in all it's the driver's responsibility ahead of time to provide themselves a sober ride home. I don't see the correlation tween that and what we're talkin about here though. Maybe you'll elighten me. lol

Great assessment. I will add too that times have changed. Where we used to do it now has exploded with strip malls and shopping centers and other businesses. It is way more conjested everywhere than it used to be and there are way more cars on the road than there were back then. Used to be, it didn't take 10 minutes to get completely out of town and see ZERO light pollution. Those days are over.

Sure.....I'm saying you've an inanimate object (that person's property) that's part and parcel to a "crime" being committed, whether it's street racing or serving unlimited alcohol to your house guests. Then the person's property gets confiscated, and/or destroyed. Why? Howzzat work? Check it out...don't know much about this site, but it's an interesting read.....

California = "Hot Rod Capital of the World" , yet it's also lacking in REAL racetracks (1/8th mile doesn't count !!) .

Ricers are the worst drivers , period . They have ZERO concern for others on the road , and have no problem with cutting anyone off for a lane change .
Back in July , I was driving up I-15 to a friends' house in Corona ; just cruising the slow lane on a leisurely drive , around 21:30 hours .
I see some shitbox fart can coming-up fast in the slow lane , with its obnoxious fog lights on as well as its purple-blue-green headlights , bouncing like a dog shitting peach pits .

That dumb *** crept right-up on me in my '72 Coronet , and decided that tailgating me to the next exit (Lake Street) would be a good idea ; and that be being on my *** , that I'd accelerate over 65 MPH . Instead , I just let-off the gas and slowed down without hitting the brakes .
Dumb *** stayed on me anyhow.

Just before the exit ramp , the bastard blows around me and exits .
Temescal Canyon is a long , dark stretch of road (old Highway 71) with enough turns and twists to make driving on it fun.
So , now it's my turn to have some fun !

I got on his *** , as he tried to "lose" me in the 35 MPH turns ... NO LUCK , you dumb *** ! I could see his face in his rear view mirror ; he was scared :finga: .
Up ahead , I could see a Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy's car parked under the I-15 overpass , so I feathered-off the gas , as that **** *** ricer blew-by the Deputy at probably 80 MPH :finga: .

Yes , the ricer got nailed :D . As I cruised by , I could see mr rice pointing at me in my primer grey Coronet :toothy7: with its 205 75-14's and rust streaks .

WE NEED another all-inclusive RACE TRACK here !!!
WE NEED another ONTARIO MOTOR SPEEDWAY !!!

Cram your eighth-mile rice festival tracks .
Fontana Speedway is a waste .
Irwindale is a JOKE .

The ricers out here in Colorado Springs are rediculous!! A friend of mine got rearended in his civic by a group of dudes in an eclipse that was street racing a chick in i don't know what....they hit him at 65mph when he was only doing 30 coming to a light. He still has neck problems. The chick must have won...she got away.
About 4 years ago, was headed south on the main road and there were two ricers all painted with graphics, spoilers, wheels, weedeater exhaust...one was upside down and the other standing straight up on its frontend leaning up against a power pole...idiots i tell you.
Although it doesn't matter what brand you're in, some people are just stupid. This past summer a dude in his 2009 or so Viper thought he'd be cool and try an race a ricer...needless to say after hitting a landscape boulder(couple tons) on the main route going around a curve at an est 75mph he nearly killed his girlfriend and it took 6hours to cut him out of it...he's lucky they both survived.

Done my share of "old school" street battles.Head out of town, run for hours.Sheriff shows up,simply calls out" got complaints of noise, break it up.".Existed this way for 15 years plus.No major problems.About the time Y2K rolled around,we were policing our own crowds and who we ran.Had problems with kegger parties showing up.Not willing to use common sense and listen. We finally called it quits.
