Absolutly kick a$$ , time capsules !

Thanks...it has been a blast...and I have not even started the thing yet.

Got a few things to do after we return from the PRI show with it.

A little ignition wiring, finish the fuel line, and swap out to the correct oil pan .....small potatoes compared to how far we have come.

On this one, for me anyways, originality is key.

Thanks....... always happy to share with my friends.

That thing is badass........again. And yall did it. Awesome!

The best part of the three day show was B.S.ing with those that not only remembered the Flash with Butch behind the wheel....but raced against them.

Now that everything is back on the Flash with just a few little things to finish....and the HVAC out of the boxes (been there for over a year), installed and functioning.....I find I now have room and time for working on the next project

In early March (1st thru 3rd) the Flash (running) will be the Detroit Autorama. Butch is working with the promoters to be there and Joe is bringing The Missiles.

Just got my New Mopar Action this week and saw some nice pics of you, John and the car. Why are you and Butch Leal looking at the camera but John is looking the opposite way ?

Still waiting to see the Mopar Action....maybe I can find it at the Kroger

Looks like The Motown Missile / Mopar (Wire Car) Missile race cars and The Flash w/ Butch will NOT be at the Detroit show in March. The promoter backed out of the complimentary passes / admission for the cars. Oh well.....

Just a little Flash restoration update.... The Modified Production (M/P) rules in 1975 require the lights remain and be functional ....they do and are. Naturally accessories like wipers, heater, dome light, etc were optional and are all deleted. IMO, this and other rules, like altering the sheet metal were in place keep older Pro Stock cars from completing in this category.

Just about finished with the fuel pumps, fuel lines. By using the archive CarCraft photos , getting direction from Butch, and following the fuel line bracket screw holes still in the floor , we were able to mimic the original fuel system.

Next up are the wheelie bars, starting with fabrication the wheel brackets to duplicate what we see in the 1975 photos.

Looking to fire up by warm weather....mid March

Man that is a wild shifter in there.

Originally, Butch used a Mr Gasket (one of his sponsors) 3 speed (w/ reverse) shifter for the 4 forward gears. He said the longer arms of the 3-speed gave him greater leverage. That meant he needed a way to shift into reverse. He later replaced the Mr. Gasket 3-speed shifter with a Hurst Super Shifter with no reverse mechanism. That is the present configuration.

Additionally, the shifter itself is raised and moved slightly to the left to make the forward gear shift rods as straight as possible and increase clearance with the transmission cross-member.

The original Mr Gasket shifter is long gone, sooooooooo , from archive pictures and guidance from Butch, we crafted a replica. The reverse shift handle is held on with a quick release pin to make removal a snap. The shifter, tunnel cover, and upper half of the transmission cross-member can be removed in less than a minute.
