UTG engine build "callout"

what a waste of bandwidth...

Flipping pistons at the track... come on... to many variables to make a determination.

Look I found some indy -1's on a 318 in a junkyard. Got a huge solid roller too... LOL

where is Tony in that challenge? Didn't hear his name.
well, they made it plain it was him by saying "former magazine journalist" and Steve even commented on Tony's video about it. Those in the know knew exactly who they were talking about.

I don't think flipping pistons in a stock 318 is gonna do jack but UTG makes money on views, not time slips. I just watched a 75M viewer youtuber have a $50,000 game of hide and seek, blow $10K on 1 firework (!) and they also have a Million dollar challenge to see who will last the longest on a rope, or last the longest living in a Tesla, and they will win it. I used to get pissed seeing these guys piss their money away, but now I cheer them on. Kinda hard to teach the value of money to a 6 year old when they watch this stuff.

well, if a guy has 500 subs, nobody thinks that way about his ideas. They just say "that's his opinion". But if he has 500k subs, then he must be doing it for clicks and money. Maybe, maybe not. But I think UTG has the same opinions he expressed here on FABO as Whitepunkonitro before he had a utube channel. So I think he really believes it, and I haven't tried it to say he's wrong.

He's stayed true to himself, regardless of what anybody thinks about "WHATEVER" that is.

I don't think Freiburger and co. Would even do it. I don't think I'd do it...I mean who welds a rounded off cam and regrinds the lobe...yes if you are on a deserted island and you can't find a replacement cam. One of uncle Tony rules is no new internal parts, a little ridiculous IMO...They are both suppposedly starting with junkyard 318 ...also they can say "uncle Tony, what about our original callout?..." you have yet to prove reversing pistons is a actual power gain.
UGT is a dickweed.
Answers a call out with a callout... total fag in my book.

Considering the differences in 318 performance through the years, and the difference in usage and wear, lets make this a fair fight, and use a 318 reman crate engine, and then throw down the gasket challenge.

I dont understand the logic in tearing apart a worn out 50 year old core engine, and reassembling with zero new parts or machine work. Literally NO ONE, would go to that amount of work, even the very most low buck guy would at very minimum put rings and bearings in it.

Tony has yet to prove his theory.

Is he right?! Maybe.

Is he wrong?! Maybe.

The Roadkill guys aren't wrong until tony proves them wrong. And some stupid contest of, "who can put gaskets in a worn out 318 and make the most power", won't prove ****.

You all realize, if he takes on Motor Trend (6.6 million subs), he can't lose and they can't win. Which is why I'm surprised they put out a personal challenge to UTG anyways to begin with......

I am surprised Tony isn't hooked up with Patreon.

You know, thinking about this "call out" this morning. Everyone is worried about UTG "making money" and all for clicks. But Roadkill was one of my favorite u-tube shows until they made a guy pay subscription fee.... Hmmm, who's for the money??? Steve D. is a great Mopar guy that has proven he can put together a motor and make HP. I wonder, Why would he with his resources and financial backing need to call out UTG ??? I still don't get it. If he want's to throw out a disclaimer, why didn't he do a test about piston reversal without even mentioning UTG. After all, Steve claims "he's never actually tried it". Why don't he say "lets see if the old DC book was correct" and do a dyno test all on his own? Why even bother muddying the waters with another channel ????? :realcrazy:

He said there won't be any "paid memberships" with his channel. Some channels, once they get a certain large number of subscribers, they start "charging memberships" for "behind the scenes shots" and more access. I can think of some right off the top that have done this, but I'm not naming them. UTG has not done this at all, and has opened HIS shop to anyone that wants to drop by. Yet he is the fillet fish here....

yes but what pistons are they talking about? Freiburger and co mentioned that todays performance pistons have zero offset, and looking at stock 68-71 High comp 340 Mopar pistons,(that's all I have laying around in my garage) I don't believe flipping them from bank to bank makes a difference other than the notches are pointing rear. Bottom line is UTG is building junkyard motors and Freiburger and co are using new out of the catalog parts. So, if Tony is talking about flipping 318 /6 pistons, Freiburger could say "who the hell builds a 318/6 for horsepower?" its night and day its junk vs.the real deal IMO. Its apples vs oranges.
If UTG wants to dare them into building a junk engine hed better be ready for them to dare him into buildong something that makes real power. They have the $$$ he dont or at least thats what he says.

you'd be wrong. The "Roadkill " and "Roadkill extra" guys have put more junk on the highways and race tracks than UTG has ever put on both. It's why it's called Roadkill. And, UTG has been building 2 318's (bottle rocket and Lunar's motor), so the Roadkill guys knew exactly what was being done. Why they did it? I don't know. Maybe it's all a planned contest to grow both channels... LOL

Yeah definitely for the clicks, I still say The Roadkill guys don't even do it. Why would they? has anyone seen a response from them yet? I usually am right more often than wrong I can sniff out the bullshit. Building a junkyard 335 HP 383 is different than dicking around with a 318 2 barrel out of a 73 Satellite wagon.
