Driveshaft installed. Finally got transmission linkages all setup. My list is getting smaller and smaller.

Went on a great hike with the boys and wifey near the house. Spring flowers and water in the creek.

What I got done yesterday. Installed the new coupler on the steering shaft, the 50+year old grease in the old coupler was more like glue than grease. Cut off what was left of the shifter lever coming off the lower end of the column. Got the steering column reinstalled and the coupler hooked up. Test fit, then hammer, then final fit the drivers side header back on. Installed the new pitman arm.

That’s mighty sexy looking! Great job! I love when jobs like this get done and you jump in and realize how nice and fresh it is, and will be for a long time to come!

Today I converted this

It is a different bezel than the first pic. I forgot to take before shots! But it looked exactly the same. Peeling paint.

Went parts gathering for a friend, came across a '69 Newport sedan with a 383 and three in the tree! Too bad it's almost dead.

manual shift?

that's pretty odd

Loco if you can grab the pedals, linkage, and Z bar I'll buy them from you.

Got a number of things checked off the list today.

-Distributor gear removed along with dizzy to get ready for oil priming.
-Painting spark plugs out. NGKs ready to go in after oil priming.
-Snuggled up some loose bolts here and there.
-Steering column installed onto Borg box with BCA coupler. Will snug set screw later.
-Power steering fluid reservoir filled Lucas brand.
-Filled oil filter and added 4 quarts of some vintage VR-1 10w30 from 2004. Then some extra zddp additive for cam/engine break-in.
-Dropped air cleaner base from Mancini Racing installed. Hood closes nicely now.
-Got started on wiring triple gauges and tach. Using the left over slots in the bulkhead wiring harness. Bought the correct Packard connectors. Pain in the *** with a cheapie packard crimper. Didn’t quite finish but should not take too much longer to wire.

Oil (electric) pressure sending unit hits intake manifold. Will need to source an extension/adapter of sorts.

All in all a very good day on the Dart

Wow, somebody sure was busy! You got a lot done, my hats off to you!!

I realize I'm not as strong as I used to be. I picked up a complete 8.75 diff off the work bench and carried it to my truck. Lifted it out of the truck and onto the floor in the other garage. Might have F'd up by back but good!

Gauges done. Wired everything through the leftover wiring harness slots and made it look like an actual harness for the most part.

Need to get a new bulb for the Sun Super Tach SST-802. Housing came out nice. Harness looks really clean with the shrink tubing.

Can’t decide which side to place the Tach....Left or Right side.

Good oil pressure 75psi. Voltmeter reads. Temp gauge I will test on cam break in day.

Crossing my fingers to break in the cam this weekend.

I’d put it on the left. No particular reason, just think it looks better there.

I’m getting ready to put some gauges in my ‘68 as well. I’m using Glowshift 2-1/16” gauges. I’m working on a bracket that will mount two gauges pretty much in the same two locations you are considering. One will be the tach, but not sure which other gauge I want right in front of me. It will be either my air/fuel ratio gauge, or oil pressure. And then down under the dash will probably be volts, clock, maybe temp.
They will all be mounted in individual gauge pods. I like glowshift cause they have black background, the needles glow red, and then the background color can be changed to any of 7 different colors at the touch of a button.
And they can also be tied into the headlight switch and they will dim by 30% when the lights are on so they aren’t too bright.

I hooked my gauge lights into the orange instrument panel wire. They dim with the headlight switch.
