What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Got my 340 exhaust manifolds installed... Had to raise the engine back up, then remove the brake booster and master cylinder just to install the driver's side! Then shove the engine at just the right time to clear the steering column...

Still not as bad as headers though. ;)

Pushrods also clear my chamfered holes and don't look to hang valves open. I may have just gotten the length right! Today is installing the harmonic damper... And getting some cold medicine.

Life is good but could we slow down a bit I'm retired. lol

Mango and Al would like to meet up with you guys someday and here your life stories as well as a lot of guys here. Good people and lots of help.

Where did you get the inner brace from,I ordered some from AMD they weren’t even close.

Got them on ebay:
Item Number 400764822464

New licensed metal drivers and passengers side front fender lower rear patch panels ( dog leg ) with brace. 67-76 Dart 71-72 Demon 73-76 Dart Sport.

Little Spendy, lower fender repair panel kits 250.00 for Left and Right.

They fit good though, considering the value of these cars though I would spend the money on the kits and do it right.

And yes, these were AMD, trimmed the fender gap edge so i it would fit under the fold down edge of the fender skin.
Carefully fitted them, tack welded in place, test fit them, then welded them up.

Happy with the results.

Some progress on my left front frame rail repair. Made it from scratch using a home made metal brake. The 14ga was a little tough to bend but we got it.

Thanks GoMango. I’m not the best welder, never welded before starting this project. I can see in the inside, looking down from the top, that is penetrates pretty well. Made sure to dial up the heat.

Good call. Hope it works for you. The pics look good from what I can tell!

Still working on my A500 swap.
Did some more welding and grinding this morning before work. On the way to work, stopped at the driveline shop and picked up the shortened driveshaft.

@Rainy Day Auto :poke: You can always go this route, I don't think I ever paid more than $50 plus the cost of the joints. One farmer near me shortened driveshafts for even less. But then there's no fun in going through the yard, is there? :(

This 308 head has some cracks...
Three more to go, let's see if I can find two that are good.

Picked up my AAR fiberglass six-pack hood from the paint shop today. Amazing how much lighter it is (and it's the bolt-on, not a flimsy race-weight liftoff). Carefully disconnected the hinges (light springs already installed when I had the fenders off), and transferred the latch mechanism over to the glass hood.
Now if I can get my neighbor to come over and help me lift off the steel hood and put this one on. It's only four hinge bolts, and I could handle the weight, but I don't want to scratch up the fenders or cowl with the pointy corners on either hood.

Wish I was closer! I'd be glad to help.
Please post some pictures when you get it on!
