Nice sunny -13C day, so thought I'd get my car out for some vitamin B5.... of course I plowed a path first, not like the old days of taking this thing to the ski hills first thing in the AM before they'd plowed the roads!

Reverse issue solved with the help of fellow member here. Loosening and shifting side cover unbound whatever was causing the issue. Last night I reassembled the column to trans linkage and was going to install my H pipe. I saw a couple of spots wet on the block near the 90 degree oil filter adaptor so while the exhaust is not in yet I decided I'll replace the gaskets for the 90 degree adaptor. I am getting close to the end but now I'll have to wait on parts. Any secrets to make the new gasket set seal properly? I've read a lot about people having lots of issues getting them to seal properly.
Got my gasket set for the 90 degree adaptor and installed it. Re installed my exhaust, starter and trans flywheel cover last night. My new back up light switch is out for delivery so as long as it fixes my leak of gear oil on my newly rebuilt trans I should be good to go. Hoping on replacing the switch and giving everything a once over visually and then firing the car up while its still up in the air. If that all goes well I'll get her back on the ground. Hoping the weather is good Saturday so I can move the car at least outside for a bit while I clean up all my tools and the garage floor which is a mess. This big job went pretty well and I'm psyched as hell I was able to get it done.

I never did like the tach mounted on the dash. Seemed like it gave the car a “race car” feel, like I was trying to tell people I thought my car was fast. I know my car’s not fast, but that’s the only place I could mount that particular tach while I was breaking in the engine. So, now that that’s all over, I finally bought a tach that I can mount to the steering column! Cheers!

Righty Tighty can you show a Pic of the side of the column. Did you use long clamps?

My car isn't a dedicated race car, but it is fast enough that I don't want to be looking down at the steering column while rowing the 4-speed! So the 5" tach on the dash is more useful (and safer) in my opinion.

I'll post a pic tomorrow, but yes I used a 5" (I think) stainless hose clamp, but before mounting it, slipped some black heat shrink tubing over it to clean up the look. The heat shrink technique is a trick I picked up here on FABO. The tubing fit so snugly that I didn't have to shrink it at all.
And it goes up to 11!
It's 1 louder!! Er, I mean, faster!

I fabbed patch panels for fender on 64 Savoy, weld up today and the cut and butt weld patches on rear qtr. Drain Trans on 64 Belvedere and get cable shift right at rooster comb maybe? Get wife to help bleed brakes on 64????? MAYBE!????? Tomorrow, more epoxy primer on 64 Savoy, maybe some high fill urethane primer on it some?????

Well I got the backup light switch installed and was able to top off the trans with gear oil. Fired up the car and went through the gears while still up on jack stands. Just had it running briefly and made sure I was getting good oil pressure with the new HV oil pump I installed during this project. Before this big snow storm coming I will get the car at least out of the garage this weekend to clean up all the tools and mess I have made of my garage floor. Before putting the car back on the ground I will get underneath to look for any leaks from all the parts that were removed and reinstalled.

Actually a week ago I took the Dart out of the trailer for maintenance: changed the oil, greased the front suspension, checked the valves, put in new plugs, checked all the other fluids , waxed my new front and rear wheels also switched from a plastic fuel cell to an aluminum resulting in having to put in a longer return line car is back in the trailer so my wife can have her side of the garage back my D150 occupies the other bay

im either cleaning and adjusting my carb or cutting more firewood this weekend. Really should do our taxes too.... nah!

And it goes up to 11!
Found the Spinal Tap fan...
Actually I would much rather have an 8k maximum since if I even get that high, something broke and the rev limiter didn't react fast enough... but can't find anything with a 5" face and shift light AND 8k range.

Been a boring day at my house I'm out of things to do on my car so just waiting for fiber glass to dry and screwing off here.

I did finish my center console and working on a front spoiler but it takes time and money that I have lots of time but no money. lol
