What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Started fabbing up a mount for a transmission cooler. Had to stop to put the Kabobs on the grill. They were yummy!

Got the hydraulic clutch MC located and mounted in the 68. I could just throw the 5.7 in and be running without much trouble yeah right) but noooo I'm painting the engine compartment, adding subframe connectors, 3 pedals, modifying floor/tunnel and cleaning up the underside. Front sheet metal, steering column, seats and dash are all out. Actually putting something ON the car is always a good feeling.

Putting something ON the car??? What does that even feel like?:realcrazy:

Nothing today... but last Fri. evening was the first cruise-in of the season at the Steak & Shake. So I got the Dart out of the garage since the end of October(?) I cranked it for about ten seconds with the float bowls empty, then turned the pump on and fired up. Checked the fluids, aired up the tires, washed the dirt off, and headed for town :)

The "snap" at the end is the transmission mount cross member snapping into place perfectly, slipped the bolts right in. The snap also made the steering coupler drop... right onto the input shaft splines!!

You'll be glad you did all this work!

Washed it with Dawn soap to get all the ducklings off. Dawn soap washes the ducklings off of EVERYTHING, right?

Glass hood now painted for the Demon. I like it a LOT! Will be a couple weeks before it gets put on but it will be a great addition from the solid red it was.

The 71 Demon's hood also got painted. I'm lovin' this one too! Twin scoops go back on soon. Then the stripe package on the sides and tail. Getting closer!!

Way back in the early 70's when I had my 63 Valiant 340 (Race & Street) a 4 Speed car... ( ran in the Very Low 11's at Suffolk Raceway) it had Solid Aluminum Motor Mounts Just like these... Zip Engine movement ... and Z-Bar always in perfect alignment = Perfect Power Shifting... Well, I went and made me Another set yesterday as I still had my template and measurements... With that said, my Test Drive Last Night brought back memories and was nothing short of AWESOME...
These T6061 Alum Mounts were Almost a full 2 Pounds lighter (the pair) then the Stock mounts !!! ( I'm a weight freak )
Not a bad days work for an Old Geezer ...

That's gorgeous......Any chance you have a detailed template drawn up for the pattern? I sure could use it.
