Loaded up, heading bright and early tomorrow morning to mission bc for the Langley Loafers old time drags.

Mission Raceway

The headers are opened up, slicks are on, looking forward to seeing what the old girl does in the 1/4 this year. Was low 14s last year, I should see mid 13s this year.

My brother will also be doing his NHRA licensing passes in his new (20 years in the building) 67 Dart. Should be a fantastic weekend!

Fixed my passenger side hood mounted turn signal indicator. ...it's been flaky and intermittent. ...all better now!

beside recycling ups bags.
working on final assemble, adjusting valves for the 70 340 swinger. (four speed)

doing a little preventive maintence, (3 seasons of track life) on the 70 "more door"- inspecting the engine bearings, etc, getting ready to put it back in

I spent the weekend in the garage fiddling around with a top secret project - so, I'd tell ya, but then I'd have to kill ya... :lol:... it's gonna be a while (because I don't get to spend anywhere near as much time in the garage as I'd like) but many will really appreciate what I am up to :D

Picked up my RT heads from Kammer and Kammer out of Dayton, OH today. Hope to get them installed and running in my Dakota before the Nats.
 
Not going to destroy my Stock 273 Commando Chrome air cleaner, so cut down a Super 225... with this experiment... "exposed air filter"... in the pictures, I just have an old 273 Commando pie tin laying on the top for visual of what might become... if I chrome plate this top... just polished a bit in spinning lathe for now...

What I did to my car yesterday.
Killed the 7 1/4 2.76 pegleg on the way into work. :/

Due to changing out to Dougs headers, having the entire exhaust system reworked. X pipe, Hooker Aerochamners, plumbed all the way to the rear bumper.
 
Put my intake back on ...

... only to find my MP valve covers interfered with the kickdown linkage on that side and the generator bracket on this side. So I grabbed my old chromed ones and had to cut one of them ever so slightly to clear the LD340.

I decided this was a good time to straighten them out a bit.

After all that, I found out the threads on my cool-ish valve cover bolts are too long ... :BangHead:

finished the engine for the 70 more door today.
Ran into a slight problem with the rear main bearing..
had to go to town to get another set.
caught it as I was cleaning/ prepping the bearing for install.

Tomorrow, the Dart gets a heart transplant..
(eng in dart is going into another project.)
