What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

The newer they get (Ford's that is) the truer that is
Had to put brakes on the daily driver 12, 1/2 ton Dodge after work. Only 70k on the ones I took off.i got my use out of the old ones
..
Might have gotten another 1500 out of them and then it would have been scrape city.
Had a flat on the way home from work last week, fixed it (pulled it apart and patched it, I don't plug them) and having access to the tire machine at work helps a ton.
Finally put the repaired tire back on along with the brakes.
I've had pads under the seat for both ends for at least 6 months. Went with Bendix severe duty.
Got a deal on those from rock auto.

This morning I thought for a few minutes I wasn't leaving the driveway. Backed out about 3 feet and it acted like I hit something. Pulled forward and tried again, this time I got about 8 feet backing up and it did the same. Pulled up again, and on the 3rd try I got out of the driveway.
I found out when I pulled the L R rotor why.
One of the parking brake linings fell out.
It had been wedging itself into the front shoe when I tried to back out. I didn't have parking brake shoes on hand but I won't have that problem again. I'll have to get a set before camping season starts I guess.
I HATE HATE HATE chrome capped lug nuts.
I had 2 of them spin on me as I pulled the wheels. I went to O'Reilly's to get some and they want $12.49 EACH LUG NUT!!!! No that isn't a fat thumbs misprint. I went to AutoZone about 2 miles away and they had the same thing but they also had a card of 4 for that same amount. Real chrome, not capped. I got 2 packs for now. $3.something a nut is better than $12.49 for one. Gonna try RA when I look for those park brake shoes and hardware, maybe eBay.
yea hate those lug nuts ...lucky for me euro cas don't use them ,then mercedes figured they can suck too
the worst is the gm one piece parking brake when the backing plate rots out and know way to get the rotor off.......

The Ford Duraspark is actually purdy good.
yea other then pick-ups failing not that many mod troubles ...it just nice to have everything in one unit
i would carry a extra dist when i went on road trips
funny story was working in a tire shop had a jag in with a bad ignition mod
was tell one of my coworkers they all basicly work the same changes a/c voltage into d/c on off
i could wire a $20 hei mod into this $180 jag mod and it would work
so after i got it done oped up the jag mod only to find a hei inside

The guy at Discount Tire said that there have been attempts to sue Ford over their capped lugnuts. But they haven't gone anywhere because they haven't been able to prove a safety issue...only PIA issue and that's not illegal.

Got the 400 splattered all over God's creation. Got the Timothy Meyer oiling mods done. Now I just have to find somewhere that'll turn this crank, or find a crank kit.....that nobody has in stock. Anywhere.

Went racing of course! Ole dummy here still likes to red-light (this time in 2nd round) but the avatar set a new personal best: 11.05 at 119.7 at a 780 DA. 1/8th mile was just off its PB for et and mph.

Not too shabby for a guy like me! (It even went 11.07 off the trailer which was its previous PB.) So overall continue to be very happy with it.

I may be seeing a bit higher rpms when I make the 1-2 shift so there could be a trans freshen in my future.

Finally got around to assembling the 742 Suregrip with 4.10 gears for my Barracuda. Now to get it swapped in. Current setup has 3.73 gears with GV Overdrive that I added last year.
I also bought some new, slightly larger tires for the front. Going from 155/80/15 to 185/65/15 with a better load & speed rating. Planning to get those mounted up this week.
Hopefully, we are all done with snow for the year!

155 80 15
Thats one skinny tire
Vw beetle size
Yeah, they be skinny. I originally bought all 4 wheels and tires, slightly used, as a set. I actually ran them for around 11 or 12 years while I was working on the car. I figure I got my money's worth, and probably cheated death a little as well. LOL
Now, since I've added the GV Overdrive and am logging more freeway miles, I better get something a little safer.

Think my dart has 185 75 13
Couldn't find any so had to put trailer tires on it
Till I changed to 15s
They would make great burners ....
Keeping them for body shop duties

Easy day, yesterday my lifters showed up, I checked them all against glass on the drivers window and all had a good crown, paying more for good lifters sure payed off.

Green house is getting delivered today at 11, a gift for my wife for our 45 year anniversary.
So I will be busy..

Thought this might be a good thread to quickly show what you are up to with your cars today, as an alternative for people who don't have full build threads for their cars.

I'll kick it off!

Today I bolted on the new Cragar wheels and tires and took it for a quick test drive with no front or rear glass. What a great traction upgrade! 295/50/15s in the back and 155/80/15s in the front. Gave the car a whole new attitude.
I also installed my new Champion Radiator that I bought from Challenger Gary a couple of months ago. It works great so far, ran it for about a half hour with a single 16 inch electric fan and the temp stayed very steady.

Now I am removing the old cheapo headers and installing a new set of Doug's along with a mini starter that I pulled from the local U-Pull junk yard a couple of hours ago for 22 bucks.

Trying to get it driveable for Mopars in the Park. I live about 20 minutes from the fairgrounds so it shouldn't be too bad a drive with the 4.56 gears. Really looking forward to meeting some members!

Here is what im doing to mine. I got 2 different designs sprayed on it. I will spray some clear on it in the morning. I also sprayed the carbon fiber look on my pistol grip shifter handle. I did my gauge cluster over and sprayed that as well.
