Lot's happening. Car got seam sealed, Edged, put in color, undercoated, etc. Here the fenders just got done with raptor liner.

Looks gray in the pics. But matches well.

Firewall paint to tunnel liner comparison.

Some unmasking

I like where you are going with your car, a lot of the same body modifications as mine! Same hood also. Mini-tubs, frame connectors, torque boxes, and etcetera. My tunnel mods were a little more drastic, but in all much the same. I have owned my car since 1988, the cost was only a consideration in the sense of if I could afford it. I have never considered the car to be an investment, it is more like part of the family. Logic does not apply. I think when people try to inject logic into this hobby they are trying to rationalize their actions. I have never bothered to rationalize certain decisions, they just don't make sense objectively and I can accept that.

Here is where we did my front fenders:
1968 Barracuda Front Fender Modification for 26" Tires

And here is my body and paint thread:

hear is the answer I came up with. If you are building something for value build a E or B body. you still won't get your money back. building a car for the love of the car is way more profitable then thing about money. I was lost worrying if my car would have any value when I was done. Now I don't care, after waiting 17 years and driving it again it was all worth it to me. Mark

When I started, I went and made a huge spread sheet of everything I was going to do. All the way down to specific part numbers and venders. Had a very specific vision for my car.
Then...I found your thread in the middle of my chassis stiffening, about a year into my build. And couldn't believe what I was looking at. Its eerily similar, like uncanny and freaky.
Your build is what has helped motivate me to keep going. It's like i can see my cars future, just in darker green.

I posted the front fender mod hoping it would help others. I like the way the car looks with a 25.5" to 26" tire and hated that the fender limited you to shorter tires. I have always loved the notch car lines, never understood why they get "2nd billing" to the fastbacks. They are almost the same lines and proportions as a Road Runner, just smaller.

Some more teaser pics. Should be home in the next 2 weeks. The bed liner color is closer in person. Camera makes them look really far apart.

Still gotta paint the headlight bucket reveal. And bumper fitment, cut & buff, emblems, side stripe, etc Everything else is painted.

Daughter named it Avocuda. So maybe that's my new build title.

Some more progress tonight. Installed the trunk and door weatherstripping. Before panels get aligned. Installed inner splash shields with seals. Trunk lids on. Hood support and latch on and blacked out. And another pic of the liner to body color.

Car should be home soon. By labor day weekend at the latest. I'm out of town next weekend or I could get it. Cut and buff is done. 1 polish is done (black pad) and 1 more to go ( blue pad). Then a wash to get the splatter off. Just finishing up incidentals. Lmk what you think.

The way your project is looking i don't think any amount of money spent would be regretted.
That car and colour is beautiful!
