Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

If I was going to do this. I would use a draw thru system for an early '80s Buick Regal. GM spent millions of dollars developing the system so little old ladies can drive there Regals and not know it was turbo charged. So it is sized correctly for what you want to do. When sourcing a unit, try...

    225 head pipe

Sigh, another V8 guy that doesn't know how to tune a \6. When we were racing, the biggest improvement on my wife's stock '73 Duster was installing a 2 1/2" exhaust system. The second was a shift kit in the 904. The third was a super six manifold with an Autolite 2100. The bigger exhaust and...

    Draw through turbo slant

Sure and his $128 turbo needs carbon seals to stop the oil smoke bellowing form behind the truck.

I bought the wrong transmission for my 66.

Brewers has a kit to allow the usage of later aluminum bell housing in the 64 - 66 chassis. Contact them.

It looks to me like somebody has "fixed" that bracket. It appears to have an extra plate welded to the bottom and is the bracket itself welded to the mount area?

    Exhaust Pros/Cons for Slant 6

...3 distinct manifolds, They deal with the choke housing differences and reinforcements along the manifold. In 1976 the manifold started to have a 5* cant to the outlet. I believe this was to allow for a larger exhaust pipe to clear the pan rail. A larger head pipe may have been used for cars...

    Exhaust Pros/Cons for Slant 6

If you want to watch a boring 20 part series on how I built my exhaust system, you can start here: The cliff notes is that the system is 2 1/2" off the manifold and necked up to 3" out the back. It uses a pair of glass packs in series to eliminate any droning. The manifold itself was gasket...

    Manifold Heater for Cold Climates

When I installed Dutras on my '65 Dart, I also installed a water heated base plate from a Ford FE engine. Worked wonderfully. But then I lived in the Seattle area where the eternal mist starts in October and lasts to July and carburator icing is a real problem. If a heated manifold was not...

    1965 dart gt spring question

Manageability is an interesting question. You may like having a car that can "spin out" on a damp corner and face opposing traffic in unpredictable ways. It does make for an interesting driving experience. Or you could listen to others that have already tried this, and choose smaller rims and...

    1965 dart gt spring question

8.5" rims don't fit comfortably on the back of a '65 Dart. Fixing the shackles will certainly give you clearance, but be prepared for the "tail happy" handling that will be introduce to your driving around. Especially on damp corners at moderate speeds. Been there, done that. Old enough not to...

    1965 dart gt spring question

Interesting that you should mention them. The first set of 6 leaf springs came from ESPO and was their standard configuration. It raised the back of a '73 Duster by 2". I am sure the nice lady that answers the phone is not out to get me. But that is what happened. The second set of 6 leaf...

    1965 dart gt spring question

In my experience, after market 6 leaf springs raise the rear by 2". It appears that his car is a 170 model. Which came with 4 leaf springs. So at some point, they have been replaced. With the condition of the shackles, I would say that original springs have been replaced some time ago.

Yep, a nice piece. Clean it up, paint it black and slap it back on.

    1965 dart gt spring question

6 leaf springs raise the back of the car about 2". It also looks like the front has been lowered, and you have a tire stagger with the 205/75s in the back as compared to the 185/70s up front. The first step would be is to fix the shackles and then see where everything sits.

slant six carter bbd to holley 2300

To change over to a Holley 2300 you need the following: 1) A Rochester 2GC to Holley 2300 adapter. Both Transdapt and Mr Gasket make one. 2) A Holley throttle adapter bracket for Mopars. 3) Cables from Lokar to hook everything up. 4) Optionally open the throttle bores in the manifold to match...

    Slant 6 4bbl Carb Selection

You don't have to worry about the secondaries on the 750 Edelbrock. They will never open because there would not be enough air flow in a sorta stock engine. The primaries are no bigger the then a 350 Holley or for that matter an Autolite 21xx which are good carburetors. So it should work. Dutra...

    Mystery Argentinean Head Pics!!

I believe that head was specifically designed for a 3 liter formula series in Argentina. There are some videos on YouTube showing one of the slant based cars taking laps. I know when the head first surfaced years ago, I did a google search on the name and couldn't find anything. Maybe a spec...

    Distributor connector

Thanks guys, I have tried the trailer connectors and they don't fit correctly. So If I have to improvise, I'll just use a 2 pin weather-pak connector. At least they are a current "standard".

Need Suggestions for Height of Espo leaf springs with my QA1 set up for my 1964 valiant

I have found that the 6 leaf springs raise the rear about 2" out of the box. Which I guess is ok, if you are going for the Pro Stock look on a Duster.

How many /6s in your stash?

I have enough parts and pieces to assemble 4 long blocks. You never know what may come up, and it's not like they are making new ones any more. I also have 3 extra a904s, just in case.

Anyone know the brand of traction bars? Any good?

Speaking of Novas. Back in the day, you couldn't buy "traction bars" for any mopars. That whole pinion snubber and SS springs thingy, really sung in with the manufactures. So to get "traction bars" you would have to buy a set for a '66-'67 Nova. They bolted on with a 8 3/4 rear end and where...

    Widening exhaust outlet

I used a die grinder and carbide tip. I opened it up to about 2 3/8". I even went a step further and gasket matched the inlets. This took about 1 hour, I also expect it to do nothing. But I had a spare hour so why not.

Anyone know the brand of traction bars? Any good?

I find it amusing that those people that say don't use "slapper bars", originally developed for mono leaf Chevy IIs used in class racing, have no problem suggesting Cal Tracs that were developed for a Mustang used in class racing. Just about all of the "traction aids" bind the leaf springs in...

Anyone know the brand of traction bars? Any good?

They were called "south side traction bars" and they worked the same as additional spring clamps on the front of the spring.
