Lets see Before / After pics of your MOPAR

Thanks, it's a W5 headed MP 360 crate shortblock. It's made 3 full passes down the track so far with a 10.506, 10.508, and a 10.456. It's running out of fuel at about the 1000' mark so I need to rebuild the pumps and hopefully that will cure it. Once I get it all sorted out I'll build a stroker...

    Charging system info non mopar

Sounds like a bad battery. Just because a battery has 12 volts it doesn't mean it's good. It may have a weak or partially shorted cell. Still measures 12 volts until you put a load on it then it goes away. While this may allow the starter to work, it's sucking all the juice out of the battery...

    Barry Grant Inc. files bankruptcy

I have never had a problem with any BG product I've owned or a problem any time I called tech, which I did several times trying to tune my Demon to my application. They were always very polite, friendly, knowlegable and helpful. I hope you guys pull through OK.

    Duster was totalled

Damn that sucks, but I'm glad you and your son are OK. I quit driving my Duster on the street about 12 years ago after some old lady hit me. Mine wasn't that bad but it woke me up and I took it off the road and just raced it after that.

    Abodies screensaver PICS

Thanks, Alan. The hood is a WS Racing Fiberglass stock flat hood that I filled underneath and ground flat, then added a Jegs fiberglass bolt on scoop. Simple, easy and the cheapest way out. The carb sticks out of the hood so I had to do something. I'm not a fan of forward facing scoops, I know...

    overpriced axles?

The 74 would have had an 8.25 or 7.25 hybrid. 7.25 center section with 8.25 ends.

    overpriced axles?

And they are still cheaper than Strange or Mark Williams.

    overpriced axles?

I've had the Moser axles in my Duster for over 15 years without a problem. When I cut down the rear for the Scamp I sent them back to Moser to have them shortened and resplined. They are still good.

    overpriced axles?

Why do you want 7/16 studs? The BBP axles use 1/2 inch studs. This may make the price a little higher but keep in mind you are getting axles, studs, bearings, retainers and retaining plates too, not just axles. It may be a little cheaper yet if you install those items yourself. BTW I'd get...

    Yay another fixed race!

I've been to the Daytona 500 once about 6 years ago. Boring as hell, way overpriced and over hyped for technologically challenged cars driving around in a circle.

What destruction? The car took everything they gave it. That's just 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

That is indeed one wild paint scheme and awesomely executed too. It's just a damn shame it's chevy powered.

Help!! Insurance not paying to fix!!!

Check with steele rubber products for the gasket or clesters auto. http://www.steelerubber.com/ http://clestersauto.com/default.aspx It's probably best to just get their phone numbers from the sites and call them.

    Toyota powered Dart? Not mine

I wouldn't be so quick to judge guys. Those Supra motors make plenty of power. There's a guy here at the local track with one in a 240Z. He drives it to the track, bolts on the slicks, makes numerous 8 second passes then puts on the street tires and drives it home. Let's see any of you do that...

    8 3/4...School Me...

Well, the 489 and 742 cases are the strongest. Mopar patterned their aluminum chunk on the 742 case because it has the largest rear pinion bearing of most any passenger car rear end, even the Dana 60. The pinion size isn't an issue because even the 742's 1.75" diameter is larger than a Dana 60...

    Who thinks I'm crazy?

6000? you can twist a 383 way more than that. Anyway, back to the question at hand. When I was planning the Duster buildup I already had a 500 horse 440 and of course the 340 that came in the Duster. I had a complete 400 buildable core as well. I reasoned that an aluminum headed low block...

Funny thing happened @ car show today!

That is a great story! I'm happy for both of you. It takes real dedication to drive those cars everyday, I admire that. That part of your story about the Mustang parked next to you reminds me of a time I took my Duster to a car show when I still drove it on the street. It ran mid 11's in full...

    Good Bye Everyone

Well the good thing about owning a GM product is you can buy parts for it at the corner 7-11. The bad thing is you don't get the satisfaction of knowing you built a car instead of just assembling it.

Fuel mileage mods and alternative fuels

I'm trying the acetone in my truck even though I replaced one injector friday and I picked up nearly 1 mpg. I got almost 18 @ 17.84. With acetone and injector nozzles could 20+ MPG be obtainable? I hope so, I'd be very happy with 20.

    Any Good Methods ?

You can also buy this stuff called Kreem at most motorcycle shops to coat the inside of the tank. It even seals small rust pin holes. I used it on my pit scooter's tank and it has worked great for about 5 years now.
