i remember the car. they were asking a decent price. i don't ever remember seeing the scoops in argent silver. thought they were usually body color or black. not sure though.

well it didn't split but i think it deformed the pan.

no run stand but before installed it was run on a stand and nothing.. i had it up in th eair running and revving to 4k and never saw a drop of oil.. seems to only do it when driving.. maybe it needs the load? not sure.

so i finally got to see if i had room to pull a motor in my 14x24 garage. it was tight but the motor is out and the car never stuck out of the garage door. now i do not have any tool boxes in this one so i have moor room up front then in the other garage the same sice.

well nothing obvious behind the motor. the front and rear of the pan did look like it was leaking. how bad its hard to tell. the oil pan did spring up when i took the bolts out. wondering if the gasket was deforming the pan. rear seal area of the crank was dry. kinda at a loss. just...

crazy.. i thought adapter at first too.. re-gasketed it, then changed it all together.. hate that damn thing.. thing with this is that the converter and flexplate is dry.. who knows though. could still be the rear main..

no the 360 had manifolds. headers for a small block in those cars are a pain in the ***. you talking front or rear tires? i fit a 28x9 if i remember correctly under it at the track. didn't hit anywhere.

i'll see for sure once the engine is out but the flexplate and converter are dry so it doesn't seem like a rear main problem.. who knows though,,

thats why i said the headers are the worst part. need to have them made or make them.. no problem getting a tire on.. i ran a cormal tire and it didn't even hit the header. i forget what size 14" it was though.. looked correct int he wheel well though. a 440 hits nothing in that engine...

damn thing runs great, drives and handles great. just won't hole its oil. just cant find the leak. now I'm suspecting the oil pan gasket. its a jegs 1 piece that I've never used before. wondering if it moved or something. just not sure. can't find it on my back or when its up on a lift so...

its really an easy swap.. headers are not made for it though.. biggest issue. ii did it in my early 20's. the oldheads were all saying that a 440 would not fit in that car.. i proved the grumpy old bastards wrong.. the car wasn't cut to **** either..

witht he proper oil pan there is no reason to cut. mine was some off the shelf (transdapt maybe) chrome pan. cleared the k-frame easily.

why is that?? i used a stock style front suspension with 73-up disc and 383 torsion bars and the thing drove great. these days i'd go even larger torsion bars and it would be even better..

even as a first project other then getting headers for it, its an easy swap.

K-Frame is the same for the six and 8 cyl. since those cars nover came with a big block the answer is no, there is not big block k-frame for them.. when i did mine i used c-body engine brackets with custom pieces going from there and bolting to the k-frame.. thise was before swap mounts...
