Trans-dapt conversion mounts with Dougs 453's

I realize it’ll put the motor pretty close to the stock location of a v8 k member. So just treat it like it’s a v8 k member after the mounts are installed?

    K member modification ?

Hi Guys 1 of the 2 valiants that i bough as a slant 6 k member....i heard that Schumacher doesnt do the supports anymore is there a way that i can modify the engine mounts by myself to bolt a big block or small block v8 to the same k member while keeping the slant 6 torsion bars ? I always had...

    Lifter question...

Mopar slant six hydraulic lifters oil down through the pushrods. They are .903 diameter like a v8 hydraulic lifter. The hydraulic slant rockers are made with internal passages to take pressurized oil from the rocker shaft and direct it to the lifters. Although I cannot imagine the advantage of a...

    year breaks on 225 please

You will likely have to lengthen the distributor and alternator parts of the harness and possibly the ac wire or wires as well as the slant 6 is a bit longer than the V8.

    Cheaper than dirt 318 build

My slant six is a slightly modified one out of a 63 Plymouth Belvedere it makes good power for a slant. I've recently put a 2 barrel on it and completely opened the exaust up. It makes power but it's either I could dump money into different gears in the back i currently have 2.23, or I could get...

Peanut Gallery Survey for my /6 Build ...

So hermiston Oregon isn't what I would call flatlands lol there's lots of hills in Oregon to get anywhere or any surrounding areas around it. You're talking a little horsepower while running AC power steering and the likes... Unless you're hell-bent on a slant six doing all this and willing to...

[WANTED] Need stock 318 flywheel for 70 dart

OK, here goes... Keep in mind, I don't own any pre-1970 big blocks, nor do I own any trucks, so I do not have any V8 clutch parts that do not fit a 10.5"/10.95", 130-tooth flywheel, nor do I own any other type of V8 flywheel*. I did not dig out the Keisler flywheel because it was in a...

Who Is In the Market for Early ABodies These Days?

Purchased my Early A just over a year ago. 1. Had an emotional attachment going back to my High School days 2. Price-point A slant 6 Early A is generally far more affordable than a larger vehicle or something BB or SB V8 3. Early A's are a seen as being a bit "quirky" or outside of the...

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

i had to block quote you down because you covered so much ground here. but let me start off by saying that some of what you're saying is counter intuitive to what you're thinking or what end goals you're trying to achieve. the stock slant six bars were the tiniest bars offered on factory show...

    Jeep 4.0 in 69 Barracuda

There was a series on the PowerNation shows where Newcomer Racing built a 600+ HP stroked and turbo (or maybe centrifugal-blown?) Jeep 4.0L. Lots of trick stuff but just goes to show what you can do with that platform. Slant 6..... ehhh idk that tiny bore is a power killer and the ports need...

    Help finding clearance!!!!

If I'm not mistaken, you'll have to swap the slant 6 pressure hose for a V8 one, I believe they are different. What pump do you have?

Who else's car started out as a LOW option car?

Despite being a few model years apart, outr cars seem to have been optioned identically (aside from the California emissions stuff). IIRC, unless something changed between '70 and '73, yours will still coded with an "L"/"low price class" VIN. I think your "medium" descriptor does make sense...

    LS Swap '65 Valiant

So that SA 60 kit came out around 1961 at point in time the Valiant and Lancer were only offered with the slant 6 . Besides Motor Trend was stuffing a Y block v8 into the Falcon at that time . And it took a bunch of mods to get it in that small engine compartment. So hot rodding being what it...

    63 DART V8 WIRING

Going from a slant 6 to a small block, I just rewrap the harness to put the connectors in the correct area. The coil and oil sender wires are actually longer on a slant 6 harness than a V8. The rest of them are about the same. Same connectors and color code too.

Who else's car started out as a LOW option car?

I don't have a pic of the fender tag for my '70 Duster handy but years ago I did go through the build sheet. 318 V8 904 auto trans A/C Power steering Front disc brakes AM Radio (if that's not standard?) CA-mandated ECS emissions junk (Cali car) That's about it. Manual brakes, no console...
