    63Dart Zbar issue

Slant and V8 Z bars do not interchange, and since your car is a 63, it would not have come with a V8, so I would say you’re trying to use slant parts on a V8 application. Not gonna happen.

    Throttle cable suggestions

There are three different A-body factory throttle cable lengths, V8 4bbl being the shortest , V8 2bbl in the middle and slant 6 being the longest. I used a V8 2bbl on this high intake. slant 6 is much longer. I like using factory throttle cables I find them to be more durable.

    [WANTED] Looking for a slant 6 225

I agree. Here in Tx. GM and pickups rule. Used to be a Mopar guy buys a slant Duster or Dart, to transplant a v8 and would usually give away the slant to be rid of it.

    73 Gold Duster 198 slant 6

I have a one owner car sence 1973. The car has a 198 slant 6 with the snake skin landau top. I did some research and supposedly the car wasn't suppose to have the snake skin top. That was reserved for the 318 V8 and the 225 skant 6. Was this option on my car a mistake from the factory or a...

    Vin numbers

There is limited info on the vin but if the vin shows a slant and it has a V8 (yes I know it can be swapped) that is a clue the vin is not original to the car.

    [WANTED] 65 A100 /6 auto

I know the early A van/trucks used an adapter plate and a crank spacer to adapt the slant to a 727 for a V8, in case you didn't know.

    Owned a 71 Slant 6 Demon for 20 years, ?'s engine options

If you don't have a lot of time and energy to pour into the project, find a few local Mopar fans and get the slant six running. If you can get the motor to turn freely, either with the starter or turning the crank pulley with a breaker bar, there's only so much that can be wrong to keep a slant...

    Owned a 71 Slant 6 Demon for 20 years, ?'s engine options

Not too bad to put in a V8. You have a 904 trans, and you can get a 904 for a small block. All the same connections and hardware will fit. Other than the throttle pressure linkage. I'd run the slant if it's not worn out. If it needs a rebuild I'd dump that 6 like a bad habit.

    Aftermarket Carb Question

A 3 day engine swap slant 6 to V8 is a pipe dream. I do good to swap my race car engines in 3 days which are pretty much carbon copies of each other. In order to do your 3 day swap, you either have unlimited resources of very deep pockets. Good Luck!

    Shift Linkage Interchange from a 65 Slant Six/904 to a 66 273/904

I'm doing the swap from a Slant 6 to a 273. Does anyone know what shift linkage will work on the car? The car is a 65 Valiant column shift car. I have a 66 273 with the V8 904 to install in the car that currently has a Slant Six 904 and associated linkage installed. Thanks

Some basic questions re 727 and 318/360 bolt up

?? 727s are not manual transmissions, they are automatics... you need to figure out what you really have there. Regardless, there is no slant 6 transmission or bellhousing that will bolt up to a V8. Big blocks, small blocks (both LA and Magnum) and slant 6s all have different trans. to block...

65 Dart Wagon Conversion to a Sedan Delivery

So I got to thinking - the 42RH I have for the Dart could still be used with the 318/390 and possibly with my rebuilt PB booster but not my rebuilt AC compressor. I could still use my just rebuilt 64 904 with the adapter I have that mates a slant to LA V8 904. Nice to have options EDIT: I...

It's no wonder the Slant 6 is so great!

The only thing I can think of that makes a slant 6 any good, is the cost of a car equipped with one compared to a v8 car. You can get slant 6 cars cheap. That’s a plus right?

    Tailpipe Interchangeability Question

That's what I was thinking, more than just the one body type. Thanks. I held onto it in case I ended up with another slant six car but everything I have now is a V8. The one A-Body I still have is also a V8 & when I replace the dual exhaust it'll be a larger diameter pipe anyway.

[FOR SALE] Slant 6 spool type k member

Sorry i haven't been on the forum in a while so just getting to your message. I suppose they could be cut off but the la spools are larger in width front to back than the slant six ones. I found that out when I tried to put v8 spools in that kframe they are about 1/2 inch smaller front to back

Center drag link, are they really $600? 1964 dart

Rick Ehrenberg once stated that the factory defaulted to the V8 version at some point. I don't recall if it was for production cars or replacements through the Parts Division. Why not? The V8 Center Link fits everything, the slant six version only fits slant six.

    1965 valiant 225 timing issues.

First, you might want to remove the timing tab, clean it, and paint it to highlight the marks. Makes things a lot easier. Is this a slant six or V8?
