    speedometer worm gear ratio question

Does anyone know the ratio of the worm gear on a TF727/A833 output shaft? I want to know how to calculate the rpm of the speedometer cable - how do you do that exactly? Let's assume you have a 32 tooth speedometer pinion gear in your transmission - how many revolutions of the output shafts are...

Need a measurement (ATI damper --> 440 block)

I need the precise distance between the block (440) and the face of a 3 ring ATI Super Damper. Part numbers will be either 917122E (steel) or 917474E (aluminum). Block reference should be timing cover/water pump housing attachment face. Here is a pic (not mine) - is the forward looking oil pump...

    Piecing together an A/C system

I now almost feel comfortable to tackle this project on my own! Did I forget anything? Btw. Is there an advantage for using hard lines where possible (despite having more connections)?

    Piecing together an A/C system

This is for my 70 Charger so more space ;) are there any "special" tricks etc. that sets apart a great system from a regular system? E.g. in regards to maintenance, durability, performance? would it make sense to have low and high pressure ports?

    Piecing together an A/C system

The Frigoclic actually have two types of fittings: the "field repair" oeticker clamps and the crimper type (which I want to use - the local hydraulic supply store should be able to crimp them for me). As far as I understand their barrier hoses are all reduced diameter. Any suggestions for a...

    Piecing together an A/C system

Thanks Bill, great information! There is a local company that specializes in all sorts of A/C systems not just cars (I try to avoid automotive A/C shops as most technicians there only have a very basic knowledge of A/C systems) but I haven't been able to get ahold of them since they are so busy...

Intake to head angle is 10° (= intake surface on head to deck is 80° and manifold flange to deck is 100°). See here for details: V8 Intake Port Surface Mill

    Piecing together an A/C system

The condenser I plan to use is roughly the same size as the one in the Vintage Air kit (26×18) so I guess I'll be fine. Will use a TXV as well.

    Piecing together an A/C system

Posted this on FBBO before but didn't get any answers besides get a kit from Vintage Air but this is not what I want for two reasons: a) cost - I live in Europe an shipping, taxes, customs add 8 to 900 dollars on top so I'll try to source parts locally. b) I want to be able to get replacement...

    Any members from Albuquerque, NM?

Well, easy accessible? Yes (car has wheels already removed). Easy? if you have PB blaster then probably too - without, no (you need to remove the leaf spring U bolts). This is how it looks like (not the car in question but similar) - the black bracket between the axle and the leaf springs):

Thanks! How much minimum clearance you need for pushrods? If I were to use 7/16 PRs that would mean only 1/32 on each side (1/16 total)..

    Hydraulic TOB differences

How do the hydraulic throw out bearings differ between Mopar, Chevy, Ford? Are they application specific or modular meaning that only the piston (diameter) is different and swapping the piston allows you to turn a Chevy TOB into a Mopar TOB?

    A833 assembly tricks

I get it ;) Although I have a lift this isn't something I want to do several times. Would it help to leak test the transmission on the bench? A833 assembly tricks

I actually remembered your technique before I started but the cluster pin didn't clear and since I had everything painted I went ahead and did it the "book" (= Passon A833 book) way. good tips! on note 4: I used Vaseline and it is actually quite sticky! I did use a mock pin (which came out...

    A833 assembly tricks

Here are two assembly tricks for a 4-speed transmission I came up with (haven't seen these before): The most cumbersome job (at least for me) when assembling an A833 is to mate the main shaft assembly with the main case. The loaded main shaft (I know I know ;) ) is quite heavy and since you...

    woodruff key (A833)

I wonder where this key comes from.. reverse shaft (didn't take out mine)? It was in the same bag I had all small parts stored. What puzzles me is that Brewers shows the same keys for cluster pin and reverse shaft: Brewer's Performance - Mopar A833 4-Speed Transmission and Component Specialists

    woodruff key (A833)

What's the deal with the woodruff key for the cluster pin? The counter shaft pin is supposed to be secured with a woodruff key but the key I took out of the tranny is much wider than the slot in the new pin? Interestingly the slot in the old pin is the same width.. Do I have the wrong key or...
