You could likely use any oil as long as you add some zinc additive if using a flat tappet cam. Some good info on Zddp (zinc) on this site. http://www.zddplus.com/

You'll be good with the 318 mounts. I think they are all the same.

You'll need a new to add a weight to your existing 318 torque converter. The 360 is externally ballanced. You can also buy a flex plate that has the counter balance built in. Then any neutrally ballanced converter will work.

When you get a chance... Do a track day with your bike! You will learn a lot of what the bike can do. It's bucket loads of fun! and the added bonus is, no speeding tickets, no school buses, and no oncoming traffic to deal with! Enjoy! and Keep the shiny side up!

Be aware of the flange thickness on the Headmans. (only 1/4" thick) They tend to bend easily when torqued. I'm running Dynomax headers and the fit is ok. Also, the thicker flange is a bonus (5/16") I'm not running with power steering. (if that matters) Hope this helps,

You can grind the crank mains, no problem. (and it's inexpensive). It's the custom pistons that you need for a .030 over 340 block, that will cost a lot of coin. If the 340 block can be cleaned up with only .020" removed then standard off the shelf .060" over 360 pistons will work and not...

I'm thinking that this high flow pump I have now, will possibly only flow at the rate of a regular 6 blade. Just for the fact that I'm driving the water pump with only a 5" crank pully. (28 percent slower than stock) Right now, the thing runs really hot with only the 360. I'm trying to make...

I'll probably end up doing it anyway. I have a 8 blade water pump which is suppose to flow more water for the use of aluminum heads. I might as well make the flow as non-turbulent as possible. If nothing else it's a psychological gain in power.:-D Thanks, Mark

Just wondering if anyone has gasket matched the timing cover to the block. Looking down inside there is a nasty step that could be easily removed with a die grinder. By removing this, would it benifit the cooling any? The red line on the pic represents the gasket / timing cover placement

I'm not running an early A body. But, here's what I've done with my Duster. Using MagnumForce uppers, I was able to get 5.5 degrees positive caster and 1/2 degree neg. camber. It handles awesome and feels very stable. When in the midst of a turn I can let the wheel go and it returns to center...
