What is it set to ? 10* is fine for a stock motor but not a modified on. If its got a 484" or 509" purple shaft in it, its gonna want 16* to 20* initial.

Not all 904s have the low gear set. Only the later A999s usually late 70s-early 80s. The 904 takes about 30hp less to spin. The best upgrade I ever made to my Barracuda was swapping the 727 to s 904 with a 2.74 fist gear and a good converter. I saw use the 904.

you can take the weights off and buy a B&M balanced flex plate.

The T/A is way nicer then any B&M Ive ever used. Just a sturdier shiftrt, easy to use, shifts smooth

Id toss that TCI in the dumpster and get a good converter while your at it. They are pretty well know for being inefficient.

The stock ones have a part # I think. I know Turbo Action has a part # on theres and if you call they can tell you everything about it. when it was built what the specs are and if its been back for a rebuild.

I think its got 12s in it without changing expensive parts. If you do change the converter Ive used the 10" Dynamic converter behind a 440 and it worked great

If the cam is that small you dont need a high stall speed. You may pick up from a new converter being more efficient on the top end though (less slip) I think all you need is some tuning. Verify your timing then start playing with the carb.

we need some more info. Cam, intake compression. Gearing and tire size. If bringing it up on the stock converter makes it 60ft worse it sounds like its a traction issue and more converter would hurt. Or bringing it up on the converter is causing a stumble so you need to work the ignition and...

whats in that 318 ? compression, cams specs, heads, intake, carb etc ? Ive had stock 318s that would smoke the tires with no issues. You have are looking for performance the distributors curve should be your first step.

I ran a 8" 4500 stall in my Barracuda with no problem. Huge cam, 3.91 gears and a low 1st in the 904. It all depends on what your idea of streetable is. I plan on running the Lunati version of the XE256 in the Duster.

Run it, Add an aftermarket trans cooler if your worried.

I doudt they are all lsd. They will require you to at least cut off the old spring perches and weld on new ones in the correct spot.
