    727 concerns

i have a 727 in my 72 duster. the engine is a 360 with a 480 lift cam 292 duration. the trans shifted great, it had a stock converter in it. i installed a b&m 2200 stall. and also added a edelbrock victor intake. the new intake sits a tiny bit higher than my old streetmaster intake. i...

    360/727 flexplate question

i have a 360 with a 727 in my duster. i pulled the trans to put my 2200 stall back in it. when i pulled it out my flexplate was broken. one of the ears was completely broken off. i have another stock one i can put on it. should i go ahead and buy an aftermarket one from tci or mopar? will...

    kickdown linkage

yea, i didnt think the throttle cable would have anything to do with it. the trans isnt original. it was a /6 car and i swapped in a 360 and 727. the trans is out of a 73 challenger. when im cruising in third and i hammer it, it doesnt want to kickdown. i rebuilt the trans a few months...

    kickdown linkage

thanks for the info. i realize it needs to be set at WOT. but right now it doesnt always kickdown at WOT. sometimes it will, sometimes it wont. when the pedal is to the floor you have push with all your might to get it to kickdown. sorry for the retarded questions. just want to make...

    727 problems

i went through all the linkage and adjusted everything. topped off the fluid and drove it. it drove perfect. every shift is on time and they are good, solid shifts. i just drove home from vincennes to bedford (60 miles) and had no problems. i agree on b&m kits being alittle inconsistent...

    727 problems

like i said, im new to transmissions. when i worked in the speed shop all i did was engine work. anyways... would the cheap kit cause the 3rd gear shift to be late? just like you said the reprograming pak would? or is there something else wrong? in other words.. with the shift kit, is it...

    727 problems

it was the $40 b&m kit. it came with a plate. and it said to remove certain check balls. i went throught the valve body. nothing seemed out of whack and all the valves seemed fine. my instructor was with me and he said it seemed ok. i still might take it back out and do some checking. thanks

    727 problems

ok, i got a 727 out of a 73 challenger for my 72 duster. a buddy rebuilt it for me. it has a b&m shift kit. we got it in and it shifted ok but was late going into 3rd. (shifted at around 3grand at partial throttle) i had the linkage adjusted but it never made any difference. eventually it...
