I did the same. Didn't use a relay for the headlights. Used the wiring in the harness and headlights are 10 times better than they were with the old harness. Did use relays on the fuel pump, water pump, and fan though.

If you do end up having to send your MSD box out to get looked at or fixed, call Pat at Techwest racing. He's a guru with MSD boxes and will even upgrade the internals so you'll have a hotter box than when it left MSD's factory.

Probably something equivalent to an NGK 6 or 7 and you'll be good.

So here's the final product on how the alternator was mounted with the CSR pump on this engine. The brackets were all custom fabricated and look to be aftermarket after all the TIG welding and polishing the builder did for me. I couldn't be happier with the end result.

I replaced mine with brand new factory style sockets and I still was having problems even with a brand new harness. Turns out I wasn't getting a good ground to the tail light housing so that opening needed cleaned up for better contact.

I did the EZ as well and installed separate relays for the fans, fuel pump, and electric water pump. I probably didn't have to do the fuel pump since it only draws like 5 amps but did anyway.

That's an idea I'll throw around. I might try to install it on the driver's side. It possibly could be easier to install there but I'll have to look at things when I get the motor back.

I didn't use the tach, fan, or alt excitor in mine, but I'm not using Mopar ignition either and I'm going to use a one wire alternator. But the ignition start switch does go to your starter relay and the end of your solenoid power also goes to your relay, but with the fusible link installed...
