360 build need info on parts

You might try the KB107 pistons from Kieth Black. I have heard alot of goo things about them. They will get your compression up with an open chamber head. http://www.kb-silvolite.com/test/kb_car/performance.php?action=search&mfg=Chrysler&EngSize=360&RodLen=6.123 Hope this helps you. Matt

    Timeing set alignment question

I ran into the same thing while changing the timing set in my 65 coronet wagon with a 361 . I installed it just like it cam out. When you get it installed and roll the crank over one rotation the cam will be at the 6 o clock postion and the crank should be at the 12 o clock postion. As the crank...

1971 Demon 4 Speed Clutch Pedal Question......

This may be obvious , but you can always try Brewers performance if needed. They have helped me with a few odd things for 4 speed related parts. I have also had good luck with them. Matt

    340, 9-24-70

I believe that the 72 year model was when the compression was dropped. The 71 engines would have still been the high horsepower engines. Matt

    340, 9-24-70

looks like the first 340 was assembled on Jan.26 1971- "3469" and the other in the dodge looks like assembled on Oct.3 1969- "2989" and it is the one with the 70 vin number on it. I believe this is correct and i hope this helps you. Matt

    273 pushrod lenght!!Urgent!!

I used these in my 340 with 273 rockers and solid lifters. They were the same length as the stock 273 pushrods I had and worked out great. P4529541 Since mopar has not made these in a while its sort of hard to come by. Matt

    Another timing question.....

Do you have an idea of what kind of total timing I am looking for? Also if I add 8 degrees to it do you think it will still rum on 93 octane without any problems? BTW thanks for the help! Matt

    Another timing question.....

Well i am going to set the timing on my new engine, and i was wondering an idea of a good place for total timing and initial timing would be? Its set at 10 degree intial now. The motor is a 340 .040 over with stock 68-70 trw l2316 pistons that are about 10.0-1 or 10.5-1 , stock x heads, headers...

    Blew it up... GRRRRR!!!!!

If I am not mistaken the MP stamped steel rockers have more meat in the pushrod cup to aid in the bigger cams and higher rpm's. Might try you a set of those to see if that cures the problem. Just my 2 cents. Matt
  23. mattsmopars

    i think its blowed

Might try the Mopar performance stamped steel rockers. I think they are made of thicker better material, and are made for bigger cams. These are also made to keep you from pushing a hole in the pushrod cup. Atleast worth lookin into if yours are the stock pieces. Matt

Finally got a chance to do some work this week!

Well, I got the OL Gal to start about 10:30 last night. I bet the neighbors loved me after breaking in the cam for 20 min. at 1800rpm. At least i had the mufflers on it and not open headers LOL! IT did well as for the first start up I had a wire broken into on the positve side of the coil, but...

NOt sure the type of headers that is on it as they were on it when I bought it. As for the break in oil I Have got Joe Gibbs break in oil in it, so that should take care of it. I also have the cam lathered up good, so I hope its good shape. Matt

    Thermostat Housing Leak

The chrome ones seem to never stop leaking. Check it for any pitts and use a small amount of sealant on both parts with your gasket. Might help you, but if it a chrome one get you an original one and paint it, as I never keep a chrome one from leaking. Just my 2 cents. Matt
