    Why is my intake killing my vac hose?

    If she runs pretty good here does that mean perhaps the distributor is off a tooth? she starts to run better if I turn the distributor a little more towards the intake but then it will completely cut off the vacuum advance line... :(

    Is the sound sucking sound because I have an open-element air filter? it sounds like it's coming from the carb but i cannot find a definite source. all vacuum lines are used or capped off that I can see, and the big hole in the back is plugged...

    power dies at mid-range... please help!

    From a stand-still if I stomp the gas the car wants to get up and go, tires start spinning and such, but only for a short while before what seems like it just gives up. any time between 1500 - 2200 rpm range it's great, but after that it's a grandma car... :P I'm wondering if it could be off...

    Smoking, ticking... AH!!!

    Smoking from the rear of the engine, ticking from the front... I pray that maybe it's just bad exhaust manifold gaskets because this seems to all be happening close to manifolds... anything else I should check while im tearing stuff apart?

    Should I have oil coming from manifold hole?

    I have never gotten this far into an engine so this may be a "dumb question" but... Should oil be coming out of the hole that the exhaust manifold bolts into? the only hole that oil comes out of on the passenger side is the one closest to the alternator and radiator.
