I might as well start with my magnum heads and .484 cam ? The 1.6 rocker will get that cam over .500 lift. If I have it all already, then why not?

I wont trash you but where I am coming from is if we want to keep the drag race hobby alive with the younger generation it kinda defeats the purpose when all of us go around and make statements like this.
Think about some kid wanting to run as fast as allowed with no roll bar having to build a car from the ground up to run 11s n/a,not likely he has a minimum of 20k laying around to blow and that's if he gets some serious deals and does most of the work.
On the other hand he gets a solid junkyard 5.2/5.9 magnum, mid 70s a body, and an exploder 8.8 rear with 3.73s and a nitrous kit and hes in the game at a price he can afford. He still built his stuff and learned what works he just did it differently. Old school is cool but times have changed and the 340/8 3/4 cars I could pick up back in the day for a grand or two would cost me 10-15k today.

Me and Big Cheese, or I mean Big Chief. Lol. Pssss pssss. I’m purging the nitrous on my 11.80 car.
I am curious,I dont know about prices where you are at but if any old joe around here wanted to build an 11 second car from the ground up it would be 20K at least (including buying a good car)by the time it was all said and done.Im talking rebuilt stuff and good parts not somebody with connections.

Not all but most of us already have a car and a starting point. You buy what you can buy when you can afford to buy it. So many good used parts out there now that guys are jumping on the Gen3 bandwagon

I mean, just buying one outright already running 11's or 10's can be done for 10k or less. Just say'n.

Then try and change the title of the thread..
The title should be I'm going to watch my son's tail lights move away from me on the quarter mile..

Show me the 10-second a body that goes for less than 10 grand? It must be a drivetrain bolted to a bucket of rust...

I bought this car for 10,500.00 with no engine. It’s a chrome moly cage that will certify to 6.50 seconds in the 1/4. For less than 2000.00 I could easy run 11’s property 10’s

^^^^he never stopped talking about what Chevys and fords can do and how cheap they are>>>

What kind of transmission and rear-end did it come with? So you build 10-second Motors from scratch for 2k... Do tell...
because we know it takes some 6k to go mid 12's BWAHAHAHAAA

Don't know what it runs LOL...
Now that's funny...
I could have bought a '74 Swinger with a 413, nice looking car with trailer that ran 11's for 7,500 bucks. Not the most popular car or engine, but just say'n. Laugh all you want.
