Now that’s the difference between original and aftermarket ,
The aftermarket tank doesn’t have the circular depression to clear the spare well plug making it impossible to install from the top .
Keep up the great work .
Hm, wasn't that rubber plug going to be installed from the upside and pressed down?my repro tank has that circular depression and the plug needed to be installed from the bottom (i tried and failed installed it from the top!
Don! In the spare tire area there are two plugs. One in plastic and one in rubber. The plastic plug which is thinner goes above the gas tank and the rubber one goes in the rear of the area.To CC my eyes the depression in the repro tank look identical to the wagon’s old tank and a tank from a 65 Barracuda I had parted out. Once I determined the plug could not be installed from the top, it went in from the bottom and fit perfectly in the depression. Is the plug different, maybe over time it has swelled a bit. The other OEM plugs I have all look the same so I don’t know

This is the way they look.Interesting. In both the wagon and the Barracuda both plugs were rubber. Could one have been changed? Sure but I don’t know for sure so I reused what was there!
Let me know if you need them and I'll put it in a padded envelope. Thanks!

It's actually correct! Sorry not for seing this until now!Is that a correct year? Or a misprint?
I totally agree with you Don. It looks great! The Cragars look nice; I prefer the look of the chrome Magnum 500’s and it’s not just because that’s what I had on hand. View attachment 1715899088
