1968 Dodge Dart GT Sleeping Beauty?

This was the first job I wanted to tackle. I thought the windows would have to be lowered beyond the crank.

I was able to install the belt line outside window sweeps with the windows just rolled to the lowest position. Very easy once I opened the clips to make sure they engaged in the slots. They come in at an angle and then with downward pressure and rolling the sweeps to the outside of the door they snap into place.

Start with the quarter windows. Do the first clip closest to the rear. You have to open the clip. Snap in place and then rotate it to align for the other holes and clips.

Next batter up were the quarter window vertical seals/felts. Insert the front thin lip first. It will make sense as you start. Do one side at a time remove replace. Once the front side is sitting in place go to the back of the seals. Use a flat blade screwdriver and work the wider rear seal into the channel. Top to bottom. Then go back again and work the rest of the wide seal into the quarter window frame.

Installed the SS along the tops of the doors and along the bottoms of the rear quarter windows.

I am still looking for the SS gutter rail trim pieces that connect above the vent windows. I remember putting them somewhere were I would not lose them. LOL
 
Missing parts located. Wrapped in the same paper as the roof rails. They were smaller than I remembered and had no weight in the paper towels. I am lucky they did not get thrown away!

Looking great! How hard was it to pop those gutter trim pieces on?
Super easy. You hook them on the top and roll them down. They snap. The two small cover pieces do the same with a little more effort. I used a rubber mallet with an easy tap to make sure they were set.
 
I am guessing these are positioned correctly. I know the angles were set at factory. As long as I got the top and bottom right I should be OK.

I found this picture from when I started stripping the engine bay. Car was an AC so the horns were mounted on the radiator support and the inter fender. See the two holes above and to the right . They are the original mounting holes.

this is on my 67 Dart, they have never been unbolted from the car.

Both are Prestolite type, there were other brands used in some years.

I believe that is a perfect match
In the photo post 264, the lower horn seems at a odd angle.

Both of my horns openings are basically parallel to each other.

The bottom one in your photo looks like it needs to be rotated 20 deg or so
 
I have looked for more pictures and I a am not finding pictures to confirm the position. I have the original pictures before I took the engine compartment apart. The car had every original clamp and bolts inside and out. I am sure we will find out.

When I was scouring the local wrecking yard for horns for Dart #2 I discovered several different mounts and a couple different manufacturers. So it is entirely posable that in 68 they were different than in 67
 
Rear marker lights and front fender mounted turn signals. I ordered Amber and Red led replacement bulbs. Need the Amber to finish the front marker lights.

Sympatheic quickie paint job. Original grille had a small crushed area on the lower outside lip. eBay Grille aluminum is not as bright but it is perfect for this Dart.

Original wiper fluid container cleaned up with Spray Nine and Magic Eraser. I need to test the pump motor.

I also wiped down most of the engine compartment. It looked like it had over spray.
