She did like 137 mph. I had her by a 1/2 second on the tree, but I think she was busy spooling up or something, but she came around me fast and her boost sounded like a cyclone! LOL

My hood is shut, but your carbs exposed and all, I bet she'd have blown the carbs clean off your car. You'd have had to find them behind the bleachers or something.......
That's just fantasy talk. The fact is she blew your doors off LOL...
I'll make up my own stories thank you very much....

Sam do you have a machine shop or work at one?

Yes, a small shop. I have quit taking work in except for a few people who I know will pay. Also, my sons and I need to work on some of our own stuff this year! I am also in the middle of remodeling our kitchen for my wife, so I am stretched pretty thin right now time wise.

I have a construction background and would have been able to retire this month had they not taken away our 30 years and out. My plan was to retire and then hit the shop full time, but now that has changed. My sons and I will probably transition to Mopar only next year. I ate the cost of some work on a 454 bbc yesterday just to get it out of the shop, been done over a year, and I got tired of moving it around. I told the guy to come get it and don't come back. I have a FE ford thats been here 8 months, I sonic checked it and rough bored it. Despite many promises, the guy will not bring pistons for me to hone it. I have just become fed up with wasting my time with people like this.

Sorry to seem bitter, but I have eaten a lot of work over the years do to non payers. I have sold off all my sbc, bbc, and ford torque plates, and now only have ones for Mopars. We will be doing Mopar work, but only after we finish some of our personal stuff. I have a 4340 4 inch crank, h beams and icon pistons for my 340 that have been collecting dust for 8 years. It is time to do something with them.

woke up and the rain is coming down...….. nats will like it! I guess the nats are extra bad because a lot of the bats have died out to a white fungus disease?? idk

Only $325 got me four new tires mounted and ready to go on the trailer.

Quick Fuel .110 needle & seats. I usually use Holley brand, but these were cheaper. We'll see.

Do I go for a ET slip today????
  • 90+ degrees, some humidity
  • Special event - small tire shootout. Has to be a door car/small tire - my car qualifies
  • Just to test n tune, 50 bucks
I'll blow 80 bucks with gas, eats, entry, sweat in the staging lanes.... :realcrazy:
Doubting but I'm thinking. I have 2 hours to make up my mind...

Go for it. Maybe you'll win back some of rhat $80.
Always glad to help you spend money.
I'll stay home an Dart around the garage.

  1. LOL... I don't gamble. To poor to give it away
  2. no way am I set up to compete with cars specifically built and trailered from strip to strip for these special events.

In bracket racing, It gets down to the driver. If you know your car or not is what will count. jmho

Trust me once on this..... Neither I (or anyone else) with a footbrake and eyeball car can compete with a electronically controlled car where consistent .002 lights are needed and the car better run with in one hundredth of dial in. The game has changed.
  • There are footbrake/eyeball classes such as sportsman and trophy.
