March 4th.... 6 below zero F and the ground is still covered in snow, and huge snow piles still around. Unusually cold for this time of year. Maybe the new Ice Age has started...… Parka's and Igloos will be the next forums we join

Finished porting the last head this morning. about 18 hours of porting, smoothing, and on the exhaust side buffing into this pair of heads. Now I move on to the valve job..... which will include buying exhaust valves and springs.
This picture at the bottom shows that I removed the valve cover bolt bumps. Head is upside down.

I spent money on the car last night.

They didn't cost me anything I got my PayPal debit card rewards money and that paid for them.

I guess I have more work to do after all! Lol I can see what you mean but getting closer to the seats. I just get so nervous working up there around the seats.! I will give them so more attention tomorrow and I will will work on the valve cover screw hump too. I read that ppl cut straight thru it. I don't really want to do that.
take your time. You don't have to get as close as I do. You've got the right idea. I was nervous myself the first couple of sets I did. In fact, I still am very cautious. Porting heads with a hand held device is an art. You have to know what it will look like when you are finished.
- My first set I ever did was a set of J heads with 2.02's well over 20 years ago. Yep, I nicked one seat. I lapped my arm off trying to get rid of it.... LOL.

I figure with quad turbos an my power enhanced compression release Pistons, you won't stand a chance.

Thanks I appreciate the help. So basically you won't to open the bowl up the same size as the seat and open the seat area (right against the seat) the same size as the bowl. Without making the bowl larger than the seat. Correct?
Yes, Do NOT make the bowl bigger than the seat! Make the bowl fall from the seat creating a tulip shape.
