63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Yes you can get it 180 out - don't ask me how I know.

A slant is non-interference so you can't do any damage but it will run like crap if it runs at all.

Did you degree the cam?

Ok. I’ve been reading about it, guess I’ll look into that. Thanks;)

While waiting for stuff, I bought this off of ebay, 200 pl/sh, needs a little TLC. I'll do something with it, krinkle color, that's what I did on my Miata engine which is in my Triumph TR6. Got time to think about it.

Wow, that is pretty, didn't know what Robin Red Wrinkle was;) Thank you for the picture;)

I finally finished degreeing my cam, was a learning curve, thanks to Halfsfish for guidance, tool ideas, and the Roll master to fix the problem.

Final reading from degreeing: 152 and 57= 209/2 right on the money as to what the cam card says. (intake 104.5 and exhaust 112)

Original degreeing from the original cam/crank was 101.5 too complicated for me to elaborate.

All I can say is that this is over with and I can start putting my engine together.

nothing here, just the dial setup

This is the original~ with piston at TDC, the crank was 8 degrees off.

While cleaning the garage, thought I'd play with the shifter~ it's like a puzzle, but I finally got it. I'm going to have to repaint the transmission, I made a mess out of it when re-assembling the tail shaft housing.

I had a talk with my machine work fella~ hot tank on Friday and estimate on Monday. So, this morning I sprayed the underneath a glossy gray, then bolted up the Maxjax lift, removed the rotisserie, and installed the K member(just to look at it;)) The doors just clear the maxjax, that's good! So, the dart will be here for quite a while, have to work on the rear valance(couldn't do it on the rotisserie), the front valance needs a lot of attention too. The gray primer makes the car look great, but in reality needs a lot of attention. The maxjax has been a blessing over the years. I have 2 1/2 Maxjax lifts and have 3 places I can put them. When not in use, unbolt and roll out of the way;)
I need a smoothie~ ;)

You're a woman on the move! What Oregon grind did you go with?

There's more than one Oregon cams, or What did they do to my cam?

I've been wanting to test fit the slant on my engine run stand, I've lost count as to how many engines I've had on it, It's fun to run engines long before they're put in the car. After lunch I'll go put it back on my regular engine stand as I'm not done with it by any means. It's actually a remarkable looking engine;)

Some of you may remember a little while back, I had this 318, spent way too much time on it, but it now is in the '75 Duster that I traded the slant for.

Thanks Zach;) I do hope you're making progress with your ankle
:thumbsup: :usflag::thumbsup:

I had already cleaned up they power steering pump, not internally, but I'll take care of that soon enough. This was in the '75 Plymouth duster which came with the slant 6. Just trying to get a few things fitted before we leave for Dallas to see our kids/grandkids.

Any ideas for a power steering gear? stock/aftermarket?

The timing cover is not bolted on yet due to waiting for a part.

I think the black goes well with the Sage green, breaks up the Sage a bit.

I love the bolts from Bolt Barn on ebay;)

meh, nothing much going on right now other than waiting for parts . I should be getting the distributor out tomorrow to Ray Brenner.
so, made a little exhaust pipe for when I start the engine in a few weeks. I'll put an extension on it to reduce the noise. I did order a small plate of 1/4 thick aluminum to make a EGR plate cover.

Just putting this here in case someone wants to do this :usflag:

OK, engine back on the ERS(engine run stand) hopefully for a while. The engine supports are not the ones I'll be using, these came with the '75 Duster K member which makes better for mounting to my ERS. Always clean up going on in the garage~ so I'll keep working on that for today.

I was going to assemble the entire thing(head, manifolds), but my smaller lift is only good for 400lbs or so, don't want to push it

I have the bottom flywheel cover, but is there a plate that goes here in this blank spot? The brace hides it, but I'd like it to be complete.

This is nice, I made this ERS several years ago, been a super cool thing and rolls awesomely.

I have a starter, but looks like crap, ideas for a starter? mini starter? stock?

The flywheel cover is in two pieces. A flat plate that fits vertically in front of the flywheel, and a bellied lower one underneath. If you don't have the flat one or can't find one, mine is out and I can make a pattern to cut one out of sheet metal.

If it was me, I'd only put in a mini starter. There is a cover plate for that too.

Hey Zach! That'd be great! No hurry by any means~ I'll start looking for a mini starter;)

I may have the two piece flywheel cover if you want me to look. I might have the one for the starter too.
