So here is how my fuel cell install went. I'm happy with the way it turned out! I still need to put the top sheet metal cover on but for now this is great.

Repaint sorry autocorrect on my iPhone sucks

Posted via Topify using iPhone/iPad

Eventually I'm going to. I'm thinking of a viper blue and having all the chrome powdercoated satin or gloss black. Bumper will be replaced with fiberglass. Same with hood. What hood scoop should I do?

Well.... after everything i did, the motor decide to give me a really hard knocking noise yesterday as soon as i got home. Definitely sounds like a rod knock. :mumum: Since i'm realizing its etremely hard to drive a project, I'm gonna be looking for a cheap small truck to get around in and really start working on the Barracuda. I did the whole plan of the rear already and after sheetmetal, new axles, coilovers, and ladder bars, i'll be looking at about $1500. That's where i'm starting right after i get a daily driver! :D

I got the motor out yesterday. The bearings are definitely shot in the rod and mains. No oil pressure as well, so the cam bearings are worn. I got all my new stuff, including a Lokar kickdown cable instead of a coat hanger haha :D Still waiting for my new Comp cams camhaft, my shifter cable, and other little things. Here's some photos to keep you guys happy lol.

Does anyone know what type of hard stuff is on the side of my motor? I pulled the oil pan off, and this was lying next to the bolts on the side. It's crushable too. Is it carbon buildup?

I decided to also remove all the wiring and do a wire tuck. I'm removing the bulkhead completely and going through the kick panel, and up inside the inner fender. This is my first time so bear with me and any advice would be great...

...

can't tell by the pic but could be bits of valve seals or like you you said pieces of carbon broken off, even old bits of gasket material or sealer.

Ya the pic is hard to tell sorry. I know it's not valve seal, I just had these heads completely gone through 2 months ago and maybe have 50 miles on em. At first I was thinking piston ring? But it couldn't be because I had great compression, and I never ever blew smoke. I'm just going to assume it's carbon buildup, since I can crush it with a screwdriver lol. Still waiting for other little parts! I was thinking of this cam for the 360. Whats everyone think?

why wouldnt you put new lifters and a cam in at the same time? real cheap.

Well I got a big portion of the wiring done today. I took the bulkhead connector completely out and re-routed the wires into the kick panel and into the upper fender. Everything is wired and ran for the front lights. Now I'm just waiting for some ideas on how to mount the starter relay and a few other small things. Here's my progress so far.

Hi,before you go any further you should use a grommet where the wire's pass through sheet metal, don't take much to rub through and cause a meltdown.Good Luck

Yes I agree with you. I just can't find a grommet that size yet! Lol I'm looking for 2

So my barracuda was broken in to last night. Luckily the only things they took were the stereo and the speakers so not too big of a deal. Still makes me absolutely angry because my luck is just terrible. I'm looking to go hei for my car. The only thing I'm concerned with is will it fit? The hei distributor looks pretty big.... Has anyone had any issues with fitment?

Check out,the original Pertronix. Sold a lot of them,as a parts guy. Drop in the stock distributor,no modification. About a C-note,well worth it..

I'd be cool with that but I want the distributor and cap in one. Less wiring and it looks neater

I got a bunch of new toys for the barracuda today from Summit. Still waiting on my HEI dizzy from Ebay. It's saying it won't be here until Monday :tongue2: But that's ok i guess. It cant go in until the 360 is sitting in the engine bay because of clearance issues.
