66 Dart GT HT Whatsitgonnabe?

I also have several speedo pinion adapters and a decent selection of gears. You will need to know what gears you have and the tire size you will be using in order to know the correct size gear. In my wagon I can use any gear as I will have an electronic speedometer that can be calibrate for what I run for years and tire size.

These are very difficult questions. Since the car isn't going to be rolling any time soon, I guess any gear will do.

The transmission is a 727, btw.

This should be possible to find over here, I think.

The tires I have now are 225/60-14, 24-24.5" tall and I have 3.23 gears. What does that mean i terms of gear ratio?

km/h would be nice, of course. :D

I am getting 34 tooth, I would think it should be the same one for KM, no idea.

Hm. One guy responded and he wants SEK 600 + shipping for the whole deal, pinion, gear, o-ring and mounting hardware. That's roughly $70 plus perhaps $12 in shipping.

Feels a little expensive.

Got a picture of the whole deal and measured the diameter, 44.6 mm (1.75")

I've had two offers now, 600+shipping and 500+shipping. I'm ready to take you up on your offer, Don. Maybe I should get a second shipment of stuff going. Christmas is coming, right?

I'm thinking about doing something about my valve covers too. They are no-name punched rusted chrome covers that leak a little, partially because I don't have all the bolts.

Went to Biltema to pick up some stuff. I replaced the driver's side constant velocity joint boot on my old Audi a while back and the other week I noticed rattling. The clam that holds the boot in place in the wide end had come off (I didn't use a proper tool to clamp it) and all the grease - really expensive MoS2 stuff) was on the inside of the rim - again.

I temporarily fixed it by addind what little I had left of the grease and wrapping a couple of turns of mild steel wire around it real tight around it. Today I got a proper clamp and the tool for it for cheap at Biltema.

And I got a vacuum gauge. I figured I needed one. I also got a 6 kg (13 lbs) powder fire extinguisher for the garage. A little safety can be a good idea.

Then I replaced the destroyed exhaust ducting I made last week. Got a new flexible duct, one with a steel wire in it. It's holding up but flapping around way too much at low rpm. I think the ventilation grate with mose and mosquito net is too much of an obstruction so I think I'll need to remove it. Too dark and cold right now, though.

Oh, and I plugged the speedo gear hole with an old Kelsey-Hayes piston and a few turns of electrical tape. :thumblef:

As long as I rev it it's ok but at idle, the individual puffs of exhaust really tear at the material. I think the aluminum adhesive tape I used makes a big difference too.

I'll get the grate out tomorrow and see what happens. I really want to check the idle vacuum and see if I can get her to run ok.

Do not mount it to the car! Just slip it over the tailpipes. The puffs might be if you have a cam. Not to much you can do about it

I need to rig up something similar for when I'm tuning in the garage.

I have a 238* @0.050" 110* LSA 0.474" lift cam. Don't know how it's installed, though.

The weather today is truly horrible so I'm not sure I'll be going outside to remove the grate but maybe I'll push myself.

I think you're right, just slipping a couple of feet of wider solid ducting over the tailpipes will allow the pressure puffs to escape and the net flow of gases will still pull all the exhaust out the right way. I'll try that.

Yeah, My eyes sting and I get a sore throat pretty quickly.

Not having a sense of smell is a serious drawback in this case, one that can be potentially lethal. I have no idea how much exhaust fumes are in the air until the air gets misty and I get the physical effects (stinging eyes and sore throat).

Yes. My new setup worked fairly well but I got a tear in one of the hoses after a few minutes. Before that I had no fumes in the garage at all. As far as I could tell.

Looks like I get roughly 15 inches of vacuum at a reasonable rpm (no tach yet).

Used up all my gasoline even before today's tests. The can is 5 liters, 1.3 gallons ...

Making a new batch of hat sauce tonight. This time with roasted garlic, habañeros, Jalapeños and red chili, dried chipotles and some vinegar and honey.

My "hat" sauce turned out pretty good. Really spicy. I'm already getting used to it, though. I'm like a ****** addict, stepping up my dose all the time.

Got a proper air duct going today. Only leaks a little where the mufflers poke into the tubes. Will be sealing that today.

Adjusted the timing a little more. Now I think I'm around 14* initial and 34*-36* total. Evened out the idle.

There's an exhaust leak btw the manifold and head at the two middle cylinders on the driver's side. I've tightened the bolts about as hard as I dare and the gasket is brand new. I wonder if I need to have someone check the surfaces for squareness.
