Sounds like everything is going as planned! That's always good!

I should throw the 360 back in and come up there next weekend...... naaahhhhh!

Probably be a nice warm evening...next saturday night is one of those late starts...1st time trial at 8 pm...

Well...I need to move cars...but my trailer is parked in front of both doors...and my daughter daily driver is parked in front of trailer...and she is out of town until monday night....looks like I get the day off...

well..if there is a will there is a way...got old pick up around the other side of house...hook onto trailer and dragged it backwards out of the way of the garage doors...

parked demon in yard with car cover....move dart over to 4 post lift....moved fuster to the 2 post lift...

got the fuster up in the air....started removing parts to get rear housing out of car...first blasted it with high pressure water sprayer....

you can see the ladder bar bracket twisted..not sure if it is the bracket or if housing is twisted with it...

anyway...new housing and brackets going in...

Got the old twisted 8 3/4 out.....removed axles and 3rd member...clean crap up....washed the new housing ....put the inner wheel seals in it....had to put new studs in the housing....put the 3rd member in...and put the axles back in...was going to wait until i got the housing welded back in before putting the axles back in ...but wanted to make sure everything fit ok before welding...

as I am using the narrowed axles from the Dart in the new housing ....for the Fuster...as the Fuster had a standard length housing in it....

now i got a set of stock A body axles...with no place to put them...LOL...

All I got to do is center the housing.....set pinion angle...and weld...then locate rear shocks...make the brackets fit...then weld....put the brakes back on....bleed...put the wheels back on....DONE>>>>>

maybe Jegs should be paying me some contingency money for the decal on the Lift...LOL

The MO875 fabricated housing is a nice piece (I'm real happy with mine). It should out live the rest of your 8 3/4 parts.

Tony who did you go with for the new ladder bars and shocks????? You do some incredible work when under the gun,When u pee does motor oil come out???? cause it's sure in your blood--Steve

yes...i agree it is a pretty piece....I was very happy with moser hitting my dimensions i needed to use the narrowed axles...my only complaint...and this is very...very small....

the placement of the vent if on top of the housing...instead of stock location...since I have steel braided lines on the rear brakes...I will just weld a tab to mount the tee where it would be on the housing......$750 with the backing plate is a pretty good deal.... 1/4 axles tubes...yes...

thanks...as you get old...you are just happy to pee.......regardless of what comes out...LOL...

The cars had ladder bars on them...I am using the same ladder bars but needed to order new bracket to weld onto the axle housing.....the Dart has single adjustable shocks..the Fuster had dual adjustable shocks.....just reusing them also.....And you pretty much have to order the brackets from the manufacturer of the ladder bars...as they each have their own little quirks..

As far as being under the gun....I am currently retired...but looking for work...LOL...and these cars are what keeps me busy...both in body and mind...I refuse to grow old...

I thought I had a job lined up that would have started already..but that fell thru...and then was offered another one by the same company but at a lesser position...signed an offer...and they have not called back with a start work date....so..I put myself on a mission to get done before going back to work which was out of state.....

now in the last two days...I had two more opportunities arise...with the last one coming last Friday...and would love to take that one ...as it pays very...very good wages and it is in my home town...so time will tell...

So I spend most of this morning and afternoon on my back...with a couple of plumb bobs...steel tape..steel ruler...digital level......all the high tech stuff needed to line up the rear...

got the moser fab welded to the ladder bars....was working on the lower shock mounts.....had to do some grinding for those brackets to get around the back brace...even though these brackets are make for a back brace.....the moser brace get wider as it get closer to the pumpkin...

then my measurements were not adding up for where the lower mounts were suppose to be...so I gave up for the day...beside it was 104 degrees...and the swamp cooler was not getting it done...

I think my problem..with the shocks ...i was trying to cheat and leave the springs on....but i need to swap out to the other springs anyway.....I had 110 lbs springs..and tried 125 lbs springs.....going back to the 110...

Tony-what does the fuster weigh???? We just got new springs and p.a.c. suggested 130 # springs for a 3045 total weight car--Thanks Steve

tony-do you run your ladder bars in the middle hole????? steve

I believe the last time we weight the car...the car itself without driver weights in at 2780.....

tony-do you run your ladder bars in the middle hole????? steve

the front ladder bar mount has 5 holes...the dart is in the middle hole...and the fuster is in the 4th hole from top.....

I looked at them last night....

Seriously, I was wondering why they put the vent there was well....yup, I did the same thing, just welded a bolt onto the housing to hold the tee...great minds think alike.:thumleft:

flipped a 7/16 nc bolt on it head...and welded it on top the backing brace...made sure the Tee had plenty of room to move around to clear everything...

Well..another hot day....Got the lower shock mounts fitted onto the backing plate...and ****...

just what i thought was going to happen.....with the backing brace on the housing...it moves the shock mounts back 3 inches.....the shocks will no longer be vertical ..and the springs now hit the top of the shock mount.....

I could have done some surgery on the shock mounts...but I dont like the coil over shock not be vertical....so...gotta chop cut rebuild the upper shock mount tomorrow.......got a new upper shock mount with tabs coming from summit...dam good i get over night shipping out of sparks nevada store..

So...while i am waiting on that stuff to show up....I went ahead and got the rear brakes back on the car...and I had to go get a piece of 1.25 x 1/8 x 3 ft flat bar steel so I can gussets the ladder bars..

Went back to the shop last night....did front end alignment on Tonya Dart...with all the dicking around I did on that car...the toe and caster was off a hair....I used the 4 post lift as an alignment rack...wow...made it easier then sitting on the floor..

sitting here waiting this morning waiting for the UPS man....always seems like went i really need the part..he shows up late in the afternoon....
